Here's some tricks I would try. Something here, might help...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your monitor on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.
Good luck.

SOURCE: Monitor wont turn on, green power light on

Hi you can inspect that what's wrong with your monitors. After you turned it on and the screen went black, you have to check that if you can see the image on the screen or not by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. This is because of the lamps inside screen. Some of them were broken and it is very easy to replace. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or burn spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so. Hope this help!! If anything I can help you with, feel free to let me know.
Thank you,

SOURCE: Problem with an NEC MultiSync 1550V 15" LCD

The power supply section may be failed, or there may be a short on one of the boards causing the monitor to cycle through the protect mode.

SOURCE: MONITOR WILL NOT TURN ON. FLASHES RED RED ORANGE

probably itz either minor case of improper ground/cpu fan/faulty power cable..
or major case of faulty or defective main board/ram/daughter or addon card(s)..

..plz do check the following as in order:..
the Hardware part:..
1)a)in power on mode, open/unplug the data/vga cable of the monitor from cabinet..see if raster or 'osd' is appearing on the monitor screen..if so monitor is ok..else replace the monitor and see..[not applicable in case of laptop]..
b) in case of laptop try to get output from external display unit/monitor using vga port..if there's proper display in there..the problem is probably with either the 'lcd'or 'ccfl' or 'inverter circuit'..

2) if u hv a graphics card, replace with a standby or onboard and see..[not applicable in case of laptop]..

3) unplug mains supply..pick open/remove the cmos battery..check (above +3v)..resit..

4)see if the ram(s) is loose/faulty..open clean/remove carbon & or oxide formed on the teeth with an eraser n resit it..or replace with a standby n see..

5) a) see if ur hdd is noisy or emitting any 'ticking' noise (like 'tuk tuk' or 'kirr kirr')..
b) or if the system is not supporting either the newly installed device or itz software/driver /firmware
if so, u need either a fresh os installation or ur hdd is likely to b replaced..

6)remove/clean dust neatly..dust is non-uniform in nature n may cause jam/short circuitry/excess resistance n many more..resulting an increase in heat..

7)open the CPU Heat-Sink with fan out of the socket..put some "Heat Sink Compound" (available in local electronics chip level spare market)between the cpu/processor and the CPU Heat Sink *** fan..resit/fit it tightly in position..

8)on main/mother board..see with a debug card for mb error..may b short..look for defective capacitors(espabove1000mfd)/mosfets..go through the mb's south bridge n the circuit lie around atx connector..the crystal clock generator (if cpu isn't heating up)..

9) [in case of desktop] the smps itself may b defective/faulty..check the outputs of smps viz. 0v (black~ground); +12v(yellow); +5v (red, green~ps-on, violet~pg& grey~sb); -12v (blue);-5v(white); +3.3v(orange)..the 'oscillator and error amplifier ic',or pwm switching regulator circuit..look for defective protector-transformer/resistance (esp 4.7k)/mosfet..
check the battery n adapter [main power], in case of laptops..

if u r not a professional, always better to seek advise from ur system admin/vendor....

Trying to replace lamp in HDTV and having trouble. Does not function correctly after putting in new bulb. Boots up and then visuals go black and the green power light keeps flashing. Help?

Panasonic DLP TV Bulbs

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.

TY-LA1001 Timer reset

While pressing the VOL- button on the projection display, hold down the number 0 button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds.

Screen won't turn on

You can try to do the monitor self test.
Monitor Self Test:
1. Physically test the monitor autonomously from the computer.2. Switch both the monitor and the computer off, and then disconnect the VGA cable le from the computer.3. Turn the monitor on, pressing the power button for about three seconds. The self-test screen will come up .4. If the image is clear, bright, and shows red, green, and blue, the monitor is working properly. Video issues may be due to the video resolution in the computer, and not the monitor.5. If the image is not apparent and intense or the colors are not accurate, then the trouble is with the monitor or some of the (OSD) settings. In this case, test your particular monitor's information for OSD.
It is always important to check the color of your power light for so you can distinguish if the monitor is defective. Getting red lights on the the power panel states that the power section of the monitor is faulty.

Acer AL2216W's green light goes off completely when the computer is turned on. When I turn on the computer and monitor, there is green light on on/off button while an irritating Acer logo is showing up....

You may have failure in the power supply due to bad caps, bad inverter circuits such as shorted transistors, transformers, bad lamps. You need to open it up and make some measurement, see example of failed ACER monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

The monitor will not turn on. When power button

First--was it working?
Did it suddenly stop?
When you see the LG logo, then it goes away, does the power light turn from green to amber? Sounds like that doesn't happen.
So--if you are getting a signal, you should see something.
If there is no signal, then the power light should change from green to orange.
With no lights at all, I suspect a faulty monitor.
