I was recently presented with a Schumacher Dynacharge DY-1420 battery charger that the owner told me no longer worked. There was no identification on the clamps to tell which was the positive clamp and which was the negative clamp. When I opened it up there were several wires disconnected. Without a wiring diagram I cannot be certain how to hook things up to test whether it is actually good or bad. I tested the diodes and found they are shorted but after doing some research and finding out that they are the weak link in these chargers I really don't want to merely replace them but instead retrofit it with something better. Not having a wiring diagram I cannot determine the correct anode/cathode arrangement for the replacements.
Maybe this page will help, you have to download the manual.
