SOURCE: My Kodak ESP5 keeps saying

My esp 5 gave me this same message. I'm not an expert but here is what worked for me.

I turned off and disconnected both cables (usb and power) then reconnected and turned on.
At this point it still read paper jam, so I took ink cartridges out and paper out.
I then reinstalled ink cartridges and PULLED OUT THE PAPER TRAY to it's FULL capacity, added about 5 sheets of paper, and on the main menu I chose the allignment function and printed a test page and suddenly....no jam!
Hope this works for someone. For some reason pulling the tray all the way out cleared the "jam" message for me. Now if I could just get the new ink cart to work I'd be all set! Good Luck!

If you are sure you have cleared all the paper that may have been jammed. You should have the printer replaced/repaired under the 12 month warranty, first try these steps including upgrading the firmware:
IMPORTANT: If the ink cartridges are not completely seated, a paper jam error can occur. If you have an ESP 3250 or 5250, upgrade the firmware, then reseat the ink cartridges.

If you have upgraded the firmware in a previous step, go to Step 3 to access the printhead, then continue the step by step solutions and repair. Otherwise do the following to upgrade the firmware:

  1. If an error is displayed on your printer control panel or the status monitor on your computer, press Cancel to clear the error.
  2. IMPORTANT: Do not turn off or disconnect your printer or computer until the upgrade is complete. The upgrade may take several minutes. The printer will restart during the upgrade process.
  3. Go to KODAK Software, Driver & Firmware Downloads and download the latest firmware version. Follow the on-screen instructions until an update complete message appears.
Once you upgrade the firmware, use the following steps anytime you access the printhead or ink cartridges.
  1. On the control panel, press Home.
  2. Select Maintenance, then press OK.
  3. Select Install Ink Cartridges, then press OK.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Close Window
  1. Open the printer access door.
  2. Remove the black and color ink cartridges.
  3. Insert the black ink cartridge into the printhead.
  4. Press down on the black ink cartridge until you hear it click into position. For more information view Installing the Printhead and Ink Cartridges:
    • Select your printer.
    • Click Installing the Printhead and Ink Cartridges.
  5. NOTE: The Installing the Printhead and Ink Cartridges screens are in English only.
    aio_black_ink_install.jpg
  6. Insert the color ink cartridge into the printhead.
  7. Press down on the color ink cartridge until you hear it click into position.
  8. p289_0012aa.jpg
  9. Remove any obstructions that might interfere with the movement of the printhead.
  10. Close the printer access door.
  11. Press OK on the printer control panel to clear the paper jam error.

To update the firmware go to this link and select printers>all in one printers> then your model:

SOURCE: error code 3528 keeps coming up,telling me to

I have this printed and if you read (carefully) through the manual it tells you it doesn't like single sheets of paper. If ever my paper feeder tray runs below say 3 sheets then this error will crop up so keep it topped up with paper. The same goes for photo paper too.

How do i open rear cover to remove paper jam

On the back of your printer there are thumb clips that you need to push. That releases the back cover so you can get at the paper jam. Clear the rollers and check by where you load the ink for any stray paper. Then replace the cover. It should click back into place with not to much force.

Good Luck

Says paper jam, but there is no paper jam

->Clear any loose paper from the paper tray. This will help you locate the jam. You will find it either in front, near the paper tray, or in the rear.

->To clear a paper jam near the paper tray, grip the paper and pull it firmly but gently from the printer. If you find a stack of papers jammed, grab from the middle of the stack and pull.

->For a rear jam, remove the back of the printer. When you find a free edge on the paper, grip it firmly and pull it out.

->Replace the back cover. Press the "Resume" button or turn off the printer, and then turn it back on. Your settings should reset.

->Try printing another document

My Canon Pixma MP600R insists that paper is jamed in machine, despite the fact that jam has been cleared and paper is being ejected when machine is switched on

The simplest thing would be to try unplugging the printer from the power source. Let it rest for 5 - 10 minutes then plug back in to the power supply and see if that resolves the problem.

If not you are going to need to do a thorugh inspection to verify that all paper remnants have been removed.

The following is for the MP600:

Issue: ERROR LCD: The paper is jammed. Clear the paper and press [OK].
Solution: Removing paper jams MP600

Clearing credit card-sized paper jammed inside the printer
Credit card-sized and 4" x 6" sized paper must be loaded properly. If this media is not loaded properly, it will feed into the printer and will not exit. Credit card-sized paper should only be loaded in the ASF and in portrait orientation. 4" x 6" sized paper can be loaded in the ASF or cassette. But must be loaded portrait orientation.
If credit card-sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the ASF and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.

  1. Turn off the printer.

  2. Load the same paper type that is jammed inside the printer in portrait orientation.

  3. Power on the printer.
The paper stock in the ASF will automatically feed the jammed paper from the printer.

  4. To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.

If 4" x 6" sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the cassette and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.
  1. Turn off the printer.

  2. Open the rear cover.

  3. Fold in four a piece of letter-sized plain paper.

  4. Push in the folded paper until it hits the jammed paper.

  5. If the jammed paper is visible from inside the printer area, pull it out and proceed to step 7.

  6. If the jammed paper cannot be pulled out, push in the folder paper from the rear so the jammed paper is in between the feed rollers.

  7. Pull out the folded paper and close the rear cover.

  8. Power on the printer and confirm that the Alarm light is off.
The jammed paper should automatically eject.

  9. To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.

Paper jam and still won't print

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Before you can clear the error message, you must locate where in the unit the paper is jammed.

Unplug the machine for safety. Now follow these instructions based on where the paper jam is located.

1. Pull the paper tray out of the machine.
2. Pull out the jammed paper.
3. Reset the machine by opening the Upper Jam Clear Cover and then closing it.

If you cannot remove the jammed paper from the front of the machine, or the error message still appears on the LCD after you have removed the jammed paper, please go to the next step.

4. Remove the Lower Jam Clear Cover from the back of the machine. Pull the jammed paper out of the machine.

5. Put the Lower Jam Clear Cover back on. Make sure the cover is set properly.

6. Open the Upper Jam Clear Cover. Make sure that there is no jammed paper left in the corners of the machine.
Note: If the paper is jammed under the print head, unplug the machine from the power source, then move the print head to take out the paper. 7. Close the Upper Jam Clear Cover.

8. Close the output paper tray cover and slide it forward, then push the paper tray firmly back into the machine. While holding the paper tray in place, pull out the paper support until it clicks and unfold the paper support flap.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Kodak esp 7 has a paper jam I cannot remove the paper

If you have tried the Kodak standard instructions for clearing the paper jam problem and it did not help try the procedure below.
1. Open the printing area of the printer (containing the ink cartridges).
2. The Ink cartridge holder should be to right side of track.
3. Look on left side, below the track for the cartridge that is used to
clean the print heads. It can be identified by a square black pad
approx. 1" sqaure that appears to be made of "felt".
If it is visible this is most likely your problem.
4. To correct problem locate the flat latching lever approx. 3/4" wide that
sticks up about 1/2" above the cartridge. It is locacted just behind
the "felt" square. Gently push lever toward rear which should free the
cleaning cartridge and allow the entir cartridge to move slightly
backward.
5. Close the top of the printer and cycle the printer off and back on.
If this is the problem, the "paper jam" error will now be gone.
This is such a simple fix I do not know why kodak does not inform
customers of this problem and how to fix it.

Brother printer, paper inside, but I do not see paper inside.

PAPER JAMMED INSIDE THE MFC

1. Remove the Jam Clear Cover located in the back of the machine..
Squeeze the plastic tabs located on the right and left side of the cover
and pull the cover off.

2. Remove any paper you can see jammed in the machine. If you cannot
remove the jammed paper from the back of the unit follow the in
structions listed below for reinserting the cover and then continue to Step 4.

3. Re-insert the Jam Clear Cover. The top of the cover has a slotted
opening in the center approximately 1/4 inch wide. Hold the cover by the
plastic tabs located in the front of the cover on the right and left side and insert the cover into the opening until it securely
clicks intoplace (both sides).

4. Open the scanner cover by pulling up on the lower right corner of the
cover until it locks into place.

5. Remove the jammed paper. If the paper is jammed underneath the print
head, unplug the machine from the AC power outlet. Gently move the
printhead to the far right side of the machine (the "home" position) and
then remove the jammed paper.

6. Lift the scanner cover to release the lock and then gently push the
scanner cover support down and close the scanner cover.

To test print the Help List by pressing Menu/Set, 6 (Print Reports), 1
(Help List) and then Black Start. The Help list should begin printing.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
