Since it is a USB device, does Windows 98 automatically load the device-driver when it is connected? If not, connect to the Internet, and run Windows Update (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) and let it scan for updates. When it completes, look at the "optional" updates -- there may be a device-driver that can be downloaded.

SOURCE: Can't load SmartDisk FDUSB=TM2 on Vista Premium 64

Hello,
Windows Vista carries a lot of glitches ....we need to give it more time as it improves. The XP environment works better with older technologies like the smart disk floppy drive. My advice is for you to partition your hard disk and place Windows XP on one side and still keep the Vista on the other. That way you can have both OSystems and still be able to use your floppy drive. Alternatively you can upgrade and use a flash drive storage or DVD/CD. They are newer technology which are more compatible with Vista.

Cheers & Kind Regards

Need Owner 's manual

Hi,

To the best of my knowledge these things only come with a general leaflet telling you not to immerse them in water and so forth.

It's a floppy disk drive. It should just work.

I am using a Mac Pro. My SmartDisk Titanium Edition Will not read a double sided floppy disk. It will read a regular floppy disk. What can i do?

Windows XP "natively" supports this "plug-and-play" USB device.
So, if it is "dead", search eBay for "external USB floppy" and buy a replacement.
