You have two wires to the dryer that are "hot". One wire is for the heating element, one wire is for the motor and controls. Looks like you have a "heating" problem. It is very likely NOT the heating element. It is very likely one of the many "overheat thermostats" or maybe even the "overheat fuse". If you wish to tear it apart and fix it, I would take the thermostats and the fuse out and have them tested. Another way would be to pull the machine out from the wall and take the back off and watch very carefully with a good flashlight whilst someone starts the machine. You may be able to hear or see or fell the bad part. Feel means it might get really hot, watch out! Be blessed

Also I WATCHED the YOUTUBE video I recommended and NOTICED his DRIVE BELT is WAY too loose! Methinks THAT is why his dryer has problems!
Be SURE your belt is not to aged because they can STRETCH and then TRIP the "RESET SWITCH" he's talking about. Note the way his PULLEY shakes so violently... AND the action of the belt itself...

Hi,
I garee with you about the motor, but it also could be the heating element heating up and shorting out...
There can be many reasons why your dryer will not start or turn...
The most common causes are the belt breaking or jumping off, or the motor going
bad...
Here are a couple of tips that I wrote will help you to figure out why your
dryer will not run...
You have a ground fault or short . Disconnect dryer and remove small panel that holds the cord. Check if any wires are frayed, loose or touching any other metal objects.
The belt can be replaced as follows. 1 remove top and front of dryer shell 2 belt goes around drum around motor pully then under tentioner wheel 3 replace front and top of dryer (top pops off use a slotted screw driver) Thanx for using Fixya Please take your time to rate me
