Even if the president would do something like that, knowing it is agains any law he will not order that. Even the president has to live by the law. The only way he can decide things if there is not a law, have to do with the security of civilians in war time and terror attacks. But how far he can go in these situations is also put down in law.
So i think this is pure fiction.
If it's a political question, they lean to the left, so those answers are the least accurate. My understanding is that on neutral issues they're pretty truthful, but I would check with multiple sources to be sure.
