Why is the picture off center + no menu access

I don't know how this happened, but the picture is off center to the right cutting off about an inch, black vertical bar on the left side, and the menu will not pop up using the remote OR the TV buttons! Oh, there's also a ghost image over the right half of the screen. HELP!

If you were in the technician menu then look for the HCENTER adjustment (horizontal centering) then move accordingly.

Some of the problem could be a weak or damaged picture tube - especially if it encountered rough handling in the move. Other possibilities are bad capacitors in the power supply and deflection circuits which are common with this aged set. No adjustments come to mind that could permanently fix these symptoms.

SOURCE: no picture,no sound, no menu

This indicates that the shutdown circuit has triggered the shuting down of your TV. This could denote a problem in the low voltage or high voltage power supplies. I would suggest taking the Tv to the repair shop or having a tech come over to your place and give you an estimate.

He, he. Somebody activated the subtitle mode on the remote. Desactivate the CC mode on your menu and it'll go away or at least if you want CC put it in CC1 Text1

Horizontal centering is performed in the service menu. Beware! You can mess up a lot of stuff in this menu.

My KP-46WT510 picture is out of alignment. There is no conversion of the red, blue and green pictures on the screen. They're off by about an inch of each other.
Some tech told me that it was the power control that was bad. I can see the picture, just very blurred.

Background

Hi Adrien, the easiest way to set a picture as a Windows background is to open the picture in your web browser and right click on it. A menu box should appear, about half way down you should see an option labeled *Set as Background*. Left click on that option and Windows will automatically use that picture as you background image and tile it to fill your entire desktop. Alternatively if you have Windows XP and use the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer program to display the picture the process is the same except when you right click on the picture the selection will be *Set as Desktop Background*. When you select that option it will do the same thing. If you don?t like the tiled effect right click on the desktop and select properties from the popup menu. In the display properties box that appears click on the Desktop tab, and in the lower right hand corner you will see a field labeled *Position*. Left click on the pull down arrow and select center or stretch, depending on what effect you want. Let us know if you need any other help and don?t forget to rate the posting.
