How to shut off water to fridge - Admiral 26 cu. ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator

Shut off water supply to fridge - or if no stop-**** on that line, shut off main water supply. Place a pan or tray under the water connection to fridge to catch any spilled water. Unhook the supply line from behind the fridge. Have some one turn on the water line for a few seconds - if the line delivers water, something inside your fridge is clogged or frozen.

There is an O ring that will leak water into the overflow pan under the fridge. I'd clean the pan too to eliminate bad odors. You must shut off the water supply before changing the filter element. There is no shut off valve built into the filter or its housing.

Shut the water down and disconnect water line behind your fridge and remove your fridge

The shut off valve is part of your house. The fridge doesn't have one, so it's entirely up to whoever designed your plumbing. Could be in the wall behind the fridge, in the floor under the fridge, in the utility room downstairs, under the kitchen sink, really anywhere. I spend a lot of time hunting for them on service calls myself. They are all different, sadly. Good Luck!

You must shut the water valve to change the water filter. If you don't havewater valve near the fridge, shut the main water valve for few minutes. If you turn the water filter to change without shutting the water valve, lots of water flooring the fridge and you do lots of work to remove the water inside the fridge. Shut the water valve, and then replace the filter. Then turn the water valve.

do you have an ice maker?

pull line off of the back of fridge to see if water comes out if not its where ever you have that line taped into yuur water supply for the fridge had the same problem hard water clogged up the tee off take it off poke some thing in the little hole make sure you have the water shut off to the water supply when was the last time you changed the filter in you fridge it could be tht too

Mine leaked because the plastic tubing which leads onto your cold water pipes was old and cracked. There is a shut off for the water mine is in the basement off the cold water line if you shut that off till you can go buy a new line at home depot or wherever it will stop leaking. DO NOT shut off your water supply just look for where they tapped into the cold waterline for your fridge. Look at the back of your fridge and you will see a clear tubing from your fridge probably leading to your basement you will see the same tubing coming probably thru the ceramic floor thru to the basement leading to a valve if you shut that off till you can replace the tube it will stop just don't take the copper tap off because it has been screwed in there and made a hole in the piping to feed into your fridge. The piece is about $10.00 at home depot or lowes, a plumber is about $150.00 It is easy to do. Tell them you need a new assembly for your fridge, If this is an ice maker fridge as I suppose it is. If not pull out the fridge and see if you see a clear tubing

Pull the fridge out and look behind it. You're looking for the water line that could possibly have valve shutoff. If not, follow the line back to the source. Could be tapped under the sink, could go anywhere. You are attempting to shut off water to the fridge without shutting water off to entire home. Worst case scenario is if you can't locate the fridge shutoff and you can't get it fixed today and you don't want to leave the freezer door open, locate the main water shutoff for the house and shut it off over night. this may still be under woranty check with sears / the padal makes contact with a micro swich and the switch enerjizes the water solinoid at the water line inlet . this solinoid may be sticking open as well. if you unplug the fridge and the water still runs its likely the water valve. if the water shuts off when you unplug the fridge it'll be the micro switch.. good luck
