It probably needs to replaced. Audio Vox has several models that have window breakage sensors. These sensors are notoriously unreliable and do this quite often. I would replace the alarm itself.
Poor range can be caused by a number of things. Has this problem only been occurring recently? If yes, try replacing the battery in the remote transmitter since a weak battery can be a problem. If this is a new install, bring it back to the installer to have them check it. Other possible causes can be improperly positioned antenna, the alarm brain installed too close to an electronic control unit, the alarm brain mounted to a large ground plane or a defective alarm brain.
what model is the audiovox alarm system? If the alarm is not remote start ready, then you will need to install another alarm system or a stand-alone remote start system.
