Blades will not engage on toro LX426 Lawn Tractor

Did you drain the fuel before you put it away? If not then you should drain the fuel and clean the carb. Gas when in lawn mowers and any other small gas engine will turn into a slim in a way and will block the carb. Drain the fuel and clean the carb system will run great when that is done

Disassemble carburetor and spray with carb. cleaner. Use a Den Tek Brush,
(http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152), to clean the small portals in carb. Make sure that the small screen is free of debris. Reassemble and start.
If this doesn't work, then you will need to buy a carb. kit and replace all the appropriate parts.

Remove the two wires going to the switch and use a jumper wire to bybass the safety switch if it starts replace the switch, make sure power is getting to the relay, relays have two power wires one that activates the relay coming from the physically activated safety switch the other is a power wire that is activated by the ignition switch, you must have power to the relay with ignition key on.

you'll need to pull the starter. It sound like your Bendick's is bad. that's the upper gear drive assay. the only other res ion would be, low power to the starter, and not receiving an acquit amount of amp to reach the rpm's it needs. good luck

Check the belt on top of the mower deck. Make sure the belt didn't slip off or break.
