Hello, j2sonke. We're sorry to hear about the difficulty with your washer. Below are links to our Use & Care guides, Parts Diagrams, Troubleshooting information and the Service are of our website. We hope this helps! http://bit.ly/112Lu7q
SOURCE: WHirlpool duet washer is stuck on "controls locked"
we ended up holding the drain/spin button for a period of 15 or so seconds and the issue resolved.
SOURCE: F01 and add a garment light on
Check the pump first but you most in likley have a bad circut board. On the front of the washer their is a kick panel. Remove the 3 screws on the bottom and remove it. Taped on the inside is a book of codes and some self diagnostics you can run. This is all your repairman will do and he will order the circut board and charge you more than the washer is worth.
SOURCE: Pushed pause. Added garment. Washer will not start again.
possible you have not held "start" button down for the required 5 sedonds to restart cycle??
SOURCE: wash cycle is stuck on add garment. I cannot
try to unplug your equipment for 15 minutes and try it again
SOURCE: add garment light stays on after garments are added
It appears your timer/main controller has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question
