Low fluid will not cause it to do that, If it pops out of gear you got a (Serios) Problem i hate to tell you, End on a (BMW) count on paying $2500 end up to have it (Rebuilt) Thats what you get for buying a (Over) price toy.
the belt from the transmission if it is slipping because of broken spring is right under the seat you will see the pulley on a arm that spring goes from that arm to the side of the frame i wish you luck take your time it is not that hard putting the belt back on takes more skill.

There is an idler pulley inside the deck with a spring. The belt probably jumped of the idler which would result in the drive cable being slack. You can probably fix this yourself by re-routing the belt so that the idler with spring engages the belt. Depending on the condition of the belt you may have to losen all of the engine mount bolts so re-route the belt properly. I have had to take out all but ONE engine bolt (left loose) to install a belt.

If the transmission whines, the brake may be sticking. you may have to relocate the brake return spring, to the rear of the flange that the spring is currently attached to
