SOURCE: maytag neptune front loader washer has NF error code

Does it agitate and does the door lock light come on? Theres a panel on the back you can take off via 4 screws. Here you can check the belt and watch to see if it spins or moves at all. If the door lock light comes on, and you here the door click. Than chances are your motor control board is bad. Seen this many times. Im actually replacing one tomorrow on the exact washer.I believe the part # is 22004045. Heres a diagram. If the door doesnt lock than you need either a lock assy or a new computer for it. The computer is in the top panel where the timer is. If you look at it you should see a burnt resistor. If no burnt resistor than its more likely th lock assy. Ill try and find the part # for the lock and computer, and a digram. Hope this helps. Dave www.washermd.com

SOURCE: maytag neptune fav6800aww wont spin on rinse cycle

With this post I’m attempting to enhance the troubleshooting process regarding dc/UC errors in Spin Cycle associated with the FAV6800A machine. The troubleshooting steps are more to help DIY owners but it could be good info. for other owners to pass along to their appliance repair service if you go forward with a repair. I’m a DIY’er who refused to junk my machine as long as parts cost did not trigger a replacement decision and I have some basic mechanical skills. What I have learned about these fail codes, dc/UC in Spin Cycle is…. this is a chronic failure condition associated with the FAV6800A series machine (no brainer per numerous posts in this forum) and I feel that most of the time these codes are associated with a clutch malfunction.
The troubleshooting guide packed in the console of your machine makes reference to this issue in the Will Not Spin section of the guide and states to replace the clutch. I re-lubed my clutch with WD-40 and I have been working with 30+ loads of varying size with no Spin Cycle errors since early December 08. I and two other DIY forum members found this issue to be a maintenance issue with the clutch, no out of pocket cost for me and I’m sure under $5 for the other two forum members, I had a can of WD-40 in the house. See the links I have attached within this post. There is a description of the clutch removal I did in those posts. I hope this works for others; I’m sure many of these machines head to the curb for bulk trash pickup. Maybe you can extend the service life of your $1K machine if this proves to be a clutch re-lube fix for this issue. Shame on Maytag for not placing a quality sealed bearing in the clutch…. my opinion.
1. Raise the top of the machine. Insert a flat blade putty knife approximately 2.5” from the left and right sides of the washer top, depress the spring tabs securing machine top to the washer base. Raise the top of the machine to observe the wash basket and tumbler action described in step 2...

2. With the top raised start a Spin Only cycle with no clothes in the wash basket, observe the wash basket it will begin to rotate CCW. Watch the tumblers, they should not rotate in spin cycle (maybe ½ turn at the start of spin cycle and that’s all). If the tumblers rotate while the wash basket is rotating you have a clutch malfunction and the Spin Cycle will fail with dc/UC errors. If this is not the situation move on to step 3. I need to post step 3 and the rest of this post in a comment.

SOURCE: what will the Max Extract button do?

The max extract button will do an extra spin to get any & excess water out of the clothes. It is a good thing to keep on to help cut down on drying time. If you find standing water in the washer, it is possible the hose is NOT in the correct position.

SOURCE: I have Maytag Neptune front loader washer. When

Hi.

Error LR means Locked Rotor.

Either the motor is faulty, there is a wiring problem, or the control assembly is faulty.

Try tripping the circuit breaker to reset the machine, if code comes back a technician must have a look at the motor.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Error code 5d/Sd means suds have been detected. To solve this problem you have to take the bottom front panel apart and then clean the drain filter pump assembly completely, make sure the washer is unplugged before working on it. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Washer won't drain or spin

top loader ??? or front loader??? if top loader you have broken your lid switch, will fill, agitate, but when it comes to drain/spin for safety reasons if the unit doent recognize the lid closed it will not advance...if yo have a front loader then i would suspect that something has gotten into the pump assy and preventing drainiing of water therefore will not spin

Whirlpool Duet Front loader - in normal cycle will not spin

no such thing as "reset teh washer" what you can do is check your pump assembly for clogs. remove the lower acees panel (3 screws across the bottom of front panel) behind there youll find a cleanout for the pump, perhaps a baby sock, or other small debris has gotten in preventing complete draining of unit

Whirlpool Duet Ghw9150pw1 would not start

This advise is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet front loader washers and dryers with a Control Lock problem.

This may or may not be an indication of a serious problem. In the majority of the cases, this is a simple operator error. Nearly all these model appliances have some sort of Control Lock feature on the front panel now. This is a designed safety feature that is used to prevent small children from manipulating the controls. The controls can be easily locked or unlocked by pressing and holding the following button on the front panel:

Whirlpool Duet Washer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.

Whirlpool Duet Dryer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.

Kenmore Elite Washer - Press and hold the DRAIN/SPIN button for 3 seconds.

Kenmore Elite Dryer - Press and hold the AUTO DRY LEVEL button for 3 seconds.

These instructions may not be all inclusive for all Kenmore and Whirlpool models, but they are the most common. Chances are, if you have a Control Lock feature, the instructions will be printed on the front panel adjacent to the button that is required to lock or unlock the controls.

NOTE: These instructions may also work for newer model Maytag, Hotpoint, Admiral and Fridgidaire model front loaders as well. Refer to your owner's manual or front panel for instructions pertaining to your sepcific model.

If the Control Lock feature will not lock or unlock the appliance, unplugging the unit for AT LEAST 30 minutes is recommended in order to reset the main control board. In many cases this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches.
