It doesnt seem to move on from the wash cycle to the spin. I can do it manually but then the spin cycle doesnt seem to stop. Goes on for so long so have to stop it manually.

Please check if the water outlet pipe is clear by blowing down it to see weather the pipe is clear as the machine wont move on until the water is emptied from the last cycle it needs to empty the wash water first before spin cycle can start, its worth a try eric

SOURCE: Machine stops in Rinse & Spin Cycle & leaks water

suspect problem is that water is not draining fast enough so when machine gets to spin there is too much water present which gets thrown up thro thew soap drawer. check the filter. on many hotpoint filter is not obvious. at back, take off bottom panel. you will see a large dia hose going from bottom of machine to pump. undo this hose at the tub end and the filter is inside it. be carefull. if you havn\'t managed to drain, a lot of water will come out. if this doesn\'t work, get back to me if you want

SOURCE: our hoover ultra care 1300 large load washing machine spin fault

The most common cause of machines stopping mid cycle is not draining. Your machine should have a filter behind the kick plate at the bottom.
If this is not the case please post back for further assistance.

SMEG model, WMI-12C7 Repeat Pausing During Wash Cycle Problem...

There are several reasons why a washing machine may pause during a wash cycle. One possible reason is an unbalanced load. If the load is not distributed evenly in the drum, the machine may pause to redistribute the load and prevent damage to the drum or other components. Another possible reason is a clogged filter or drain hose, which can cause the machine to pause as it tries to drain water from the drum.

In the case of the SMEG model WMI-12C7, repeat pausing during wash cycles could be caused by a malfunctioning sensor or control board. These components are responsible for monitoring and regulating various aspects of the wash cycle, such as water level, temperature, and spin speed. If one of these components is faulty, it may cause the machine to pause or stop unexpectedly.

To resolve this problem, it is recommended to first check for any obvious issues such as an unbalanced load or clogged filter. If these do not appear to be the problem, it may be necessary to call a professional repair service to diagnose and fix any issues with the sensor or control board.

In addition, it is important to properly maintain and care for your washing machine to prevent future issues. This includes regularly cleaning the filter and drain hose, avoiding overloading the machine, and using only recommended detergents and settings.

Hello I have a Smeg 161s2 built in washing machine, I have a back wash problem and while off the machine fills up with a little water enough to cause an unpleasant odour. I do not think this is normal...

Hi Eileen , there is usually 2 main causes for this type of problem
1. your sink u-bend is starting to clog up ( use a good quality drain cleaner ( mr muscle etc )
2. your sink is syphoning back into the washing machine ( purchase an anti syphon valve from B&Q or homebase/home depot )
hope this helps

I have a frigidaire front load washer that doesnt work right

I would like to give a brief description of how it works, what could go wrong and the intangibles: These new fangled washers use artificial intelligence.
The brain has sensors and uses logic to control the wash sequence. The brain can tell if the hose are hooked backwards, the load is too large, the wrong amount of soap, The wrong soap, long fill, and long drain. To get the most out of the machine it is best to use the right soap and wash reasonable loads. When you start the wash the water temps and water level are monitored by the brain, any abnormality like a slow fill or wrong water temp is gonna be picked up by sensors. If all of that turns out to be correctly connected and should be functioning normal then either you have a failed component or a wiring problem. In that case the brain will give a fault code of some sort.

Whirlpool washing machine...only uses hot water

Make sure the hoses are connected correctly to the water valve on the machine. The connections will be marked with an "H" and a "C".

Given they are correct, most current washing machines have and auto temp feature on the water fill. It allows even cold water settings to bring in some hot water to make sure the water temp is hot enough to efficiently disolve your laundry detergant. The preset temps are usually around 75* for cold, and 105* for warm. Hot water comes in at whatever temp your household water temp is.

Smeg washer/dryer not filling

Check the pressure switch, aka water level switch. If this isn't the problem, it may be the water valve.

Water does not enter

PLease check the water inlet filter. This is normally located just where the cold water hose connects up to the machine
