After a full night charge with the joystick on, drive it around. If the battery drops off drastically the battery maybe bad. But the same maybe said of the charger, I recommend taking the charger to your local battery shop an have them test it for you.

The motor controller may be bad. If the battery charger is connected to the charge port , the scooter won't move even if the charger is not plugged into the wall.

I have a rascal and put new batteries in it and it seems they will not charge up what could be the problem?

Hi Chris,,,, Now lets get the silly question out of the way first, have you tried another charger ?

IS it a built in charger ?

Remember a bad charger == Bad batteries...

the lead that goes from the chagrer socket to the batteries via the controller are most likely adding resistance that the charger does not like ...

Hello. I need a battery charger for a Rascal 325. This is the second one. It is not an OEM but a Prism GHC-244000IL-EMI 24V Model AE244000. They tell me at my scooter repair store that the OEM costs...

Any 4 amp charger you can find will work to charge your batteries. Preferably find one that has an on/off switch on the charger. You should be able to find one on ebay a lot less than what the scooter repair store quoted you Check around your neighborhood someone might have a second charger that they are not using. Since Medicare will pay for a new chair every 5 years someone might have a extra charger laying around. Hope this helps you

I have a Rascal 305. How long should built-in charger run to fully charge batteries. Mine only charges about one hour at 3.5 amps (on meter on back) before shutting off. What should charging current be,...

moleman If the batteries are fully depleted then the on-board charger will not pick them up and charge them to full strength. It is not designed to charge very low batteries. If the batteries stayed fully depleted for a period of time you will have to replace both of them. You should never fully discharge your batteries. The battery level gauge on your chair should be used to determine when to charge if it is the red recharge overnite. Get into the habit of recharging overnite if you use the chair daily. Always store the chair fully charged and if not used weekly charge once a week. Never leave the charged plugged in more than 18 hours. The chair only operates on about a 5-6 volt range from about 21-26 volts. If you are in the red the voltage is down to about 20-21 volts. Hope this helps you
