Hi there!
You can remove the drum and toner, remove toner from the drum unit then gently rock the toner from side to side for about six times to distribute the toner inside, then on the drum unit slide the green tab on the upper left hand from left to rigth for about six times and then put it back to the home position. Reinstall the toner back to the drum unit and then put the drum and toner back to the printer. closed the front cover. the toner light should turn off,
Hope this helps.
To reset the toner level.. you will need to push the level at the left side of the toner... First remove the toner from the printer, and you will be able to see the white level on the left side of the toner.. to push it up, you will need to unscrew 3 screws which is holding the side cover.. once done..push the white level the other way and then close back the side cover. Screw back and then put the toner into the printer. This should reset the toner. But make sure there is still toner in the cart, else it will damage the drum..
black streaks the toner cartridge is leaking from the left side which is easy to check pull the tone and look at the gears on the left side to see if toner is present. if these gears have toner on them the cartridge is leaking replace it. check the fuser for wear marks on the hot roller which is the top roller when these get worn through the outer coating they will create black streaks
if your toner and drum have been at an angle , toner will only be on the left side. here's the fix. Remove drum cartridgewith toner in it and move it gently from extreme right to extreme left, do this three times and your image should be ok
Take the cradle out of the printer, using a flat blade screwdriver prise up on the left corner of the toner cartridge and pull toner cartridge from the right hand side.
the problem is cause when the toner cartridge in install incorrectly, inserting at an angle to the leftside first and so the toner trap door does not rotate.
The correct way, is to place the cartidge on the cradle and press from the centre down on the toner body.
Shake your toner jug well, on the the top right side of the copier is where the toner empties into a toner hopper. The cover lifts from the right and pivots open to the left. The cap on the toner jug is square the one side has 2 points on each end that stick out, that side angles in toward the left until it seats flat, then on the right under the toner is a door that slides out to the right, then there is a second door on the toner jug that pulls out to the right also. Just lightly tap on the sides of the jug until it empties. then push the door on the jug back to the left then do the same with the door on the toner hopper you may hsve to press very hard to get the jug to release.
Good luck and let me know.
Two possible problems:
1. You actually got a partially empty new toner. This has happened to me once.
2. The sensor on the printer is dirty and not seeing the toner. With the toner there is a little wipe that says it is for cleaning the LED. There is an LED sensor that "reads" the presence of the toner. If this is dirty it will think there is no toner cartridge.
For each toner there is an individual toner sensor. There is a real good possibility that the metal contacts on the sensors have become dirty. Typically, a little bit of canned air directly on the sensor contacts will resolve the issue.
After removing a toner cartidge, look to hte left side of where that cartridge rests. The sensor is located there.
