Looking over your
refrigerators service manual and wiring diagram shows and electric damper that controls the flow of cold air from the
freezer to the fresh food compartment. I just may be stuck with a little frost or we need to check it along with your jazz electronic control board part number 12868513. That board appears to control temperature, defrost and most everything on your model. And if not stuck the
electric motor could be bad on the damper. These model are a little tricky so hopefully we can find the problem soon. If you would like to approach this yourself I would first unplug for a little time and try to force some warm air into the damper with a hair
dryer to see if the damper will begin to move. Turning freezer colder also may cause the damper to shut more so as to keep the cold air in freezer. If the controls are not responsive then it's a toss up between the two. Be back with links, Thanks Sea Breeze
Hi Susan , here is a link to the User Manual:http://www.manualowl.com/m/Whirlpool/GI5... It doesn't provide a schematic of the refrigerator, so I can't provide information on where the controls are located. However, page 9 talks about the controls and shows the factory default temperature at 0 on the left and 38 on the right. I'd make sure those two numbers matched to see if that makes a difference. Let me know if I have the right model: GI5FSAXVY?
