I have a Frigidaire energy star 50 pint dehumidifier serial number is lad504fdl. It runs for about 5 mins. then stops. I cleaned the filter, and it has a filter reset, but I can't get it to work. Please...

Hello Jackie Grier, I appreciate your post!

I understand that the filter reset button is not working on your Frigidaire dehumidifier. I would perform a reset to your dehumidifier which can be done by disconnecting power from it for roughly ten minutes, you can do that can be done by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker.

If that does not correct the issue it sounds like a possible problem with your control panel or sensor. Are you under warranty? If so I would reach out to your manufacture to see if they have any potential remedy for assistance. I hope this helps. -Matt

How can I get it to empty out the extenal drain?

might your hose or drain fitting be clogged , if so it's a very common cause of no drain, i use a wet/dry vac backwards (blowing out) to gently push whatever it is out of the hose and fitings , wet /dry vacs have a gentle air flow not sharp/rough like compressed air !!! to make a messs on your floor

When turned off, makes a humming sound which it never did before. Can I ignore or do I need to fix some?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704TDP, is making a humming sound, when it is turned off. I also see that you have tried cleaning the filter and grill already, and want to know if there you should be concerned about this. You should not be alarmed by this. Providing, your dehumidifier is doing what it is supposed to do, and is taking moisture from the air, your appliance sounds like it is working fine. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

The motor seems fine, but it no longer collects water or helps the clothes dry. It is an Airforce model BQDD122FW. If it is the heater element, how much should it be to repair, roughly?

Hi,

There are many reasons why a dehumidifier will not work or collect water.

Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong with their dehumidifier

Dehumidifier is running but no water is in bucket

Dehumidifier makes a lould clanking sound when the fan spins. I took of the back cover, the fan is not hitting anything, sounds like it is coming from inside the motor.

Sounds like a bearing went bad. Unplug the unit and grab the fan blades and move them. If they slop around inside the motor, you have bad bearings.

My DeLonghi Portable Dehumidifier Model DEM10 has stopped working. It doesn't make the same noise when you turn it on anymore i.e the slight refridgerator sound. Does this sound like a repairable problem...

Hello,

First, make sure the reservoir is empty. If you plug the unit in and see a green power light, but the unit won't run, make sure the reservoir is properly inserted. Many dehumidifiers have switches or sensors to make sure that the reservoir is placed so that it won't leak. Look for these sensors and make sure the reservoir is engaging them. If your dehumidifier has a float or switch to indicate a full reservoir, make sure this switch isn't being tripped accidentally.

Good luck.
