Watch I have just purchased a morgan m767k ladies watch and when it arrived the battery was dead. I have had the battery replaced and the watch is working but I am unable to put the back plate back on the watch

No simple fix, you will need a watch repair shop to fix this, but make sure you get a repair estimate, it may shock you.

Flashing means low battery. Time to replace it.

There is a depression/recessed button in the back of the case. The watch comes with a stylus for poking it, but I'm told just about anything pointy, even a toothpick will do. It only works if the watch is functioning. If the battery is dead, it won't do anything. You can make short pokes to make small adjustments, or press continuously to move the hands faster for large adjustments.

Some winders need to be unscrewed (its a water resistance feature).

Try turning the winder anticlockwise about a quarter of a turn or so.

(Don't forget to screw it back in when you have finished!)

If you are able to, send it back where you got it, most companuies have 30day return policies...if its been longer take it to a reputable jeweler or watchmaker and have the battery replaced...sometimes watches have been sitting in a warehouse for awhile before they are sold and the batteries have run down.

I think it required cleaning for movement any expert watch maker will do it ,,, and if you are in chicago we can clean it.

There are a few possible reasons why your watch is not working:

1. The battery is dead (sometimes even new watches have a dead battery in them).
2. The plastic piece between the crown and the watch case was not removed (this protects the battery from wearing down until you receive the watch).
3. You bought a watch with a damaged movement and it just will not work period so you may have to return it, exchange it, or have it repaired

These are the 3 reasons why your watch could not be working. The reason will fall into one of these 3 categories, so I hope this helps!

Who ever told you that story about throwing it away should not be in the business of repairing watches. I have the same problem and googled Lucienpiccardusa.com. They do lifetime battery replacement and some general servicing according to your warrenty. From what I read on their web site you only pay for the shipping charges.

Try replacing the battery.. Did you use Paypal... if the battery doesn't fix it... Contact the seller... ask for a refund (UNLESS - it said "as is - no warranty") .. then Use Paypal's services to get your money back
