14.4V Drill Battery Will not Charge

I have a 14.4V drill battery that will not charge. Battery is lithium (model 1434)) and charger is a DC1411. Red light on charger comes on when battery is inserted and may stay on for 10 minutes to an hour before switching to green light, indicating charged. Battery, however, is not charged. No malfunction lights on charger ever come on. Bad battery or bad charger?
What should voltage be on positive and negative contacts in charger?
Thanks,
Neal Locke

The battery is 14.4 volts so the charger should be 14.4 volts.

Can I fix a 20 volt lithium Bauer drill that won't turn on after removed from battery charger?

If the battery goes flat, the charger may ignore it and it will never charge.

What Ryobi batteries p103 or p104 will a battery charger that came with my p100 batteries charge? Or will the charger work with these batteries?

If you have a P100 NiCad battery, the charger for that will not charge the new Lithium Ion P103 or P104 batteries. You need a specialised Ryobi Lithium Ion battery charger like this one

I have a Ryobi 18v drill with battery 130429002 that will not hold a charge. Expensive battery with very little use. Can you help?

If both batteries won't hold a charge the problem may be the charger (not providing a full charge). If one battery is OK and one not holding a charge, the problem is probably a defect with the battery. I know there expensive, (I recently had to replace one for DeWalt).

Sorry Mate your battery is dead...
The makita lithium batterys dont like getting worked hard quickly.
There is a chip in them that recognice each battery to each specific charger. Try another charger. This has not worked for me. Try anyway
