Why can' I t get mower to do anything when trying to crank it over?

The hour meter comes on when trying to crank. I replaced battery and trickle charged it and have had no trouble with mower until now. There is no sound from stater or anything when turning key. I sit on mower with brake fully engaged.

Try jumping your battery with your car/battery. If that works, charge your battery and/or adjust your valves. If it doesnt, try jumping directly to the starter from the battery. If that works, get a new starter solenoid. If it doesnt, get a new starter.

What method are you jump starting? Are you putting clamps from jump battery on the posts of the battery or grounding the jump battery and then touching the + cable to the starter terminal?

Look near the starter solenoid for a fuse. It is probably under the hood near the steering column. If fuse is good, problem is likely a safety switch.

SOURCE: i have a bolens 38 inch riding mower. it cranked

did you try depressing the clutch to disengage everything regardless of being in neutral? and it sounds like a pulley bearing went bad.try to spin the pulley with your hand and see if it moves.take the belt off to the mower deck and that should keep them from turning when you go to start it.

Husquarvanna zero turn mower, not starting, battery is good, new key switch, new solenoid, still won't click, fuses look good, the hour meter is blinking showing a battery sign, does not show hrs.

ZTRs typically require the following safeties to crank.

Brake ON
Steering arms out
PTO OFF

Some also require operator seat occupied but most Husqvarna do not. Cycle controls and try again.

The hour meter may not display unless engine is running.

Which model number?

Husqvarna wiring diagrams should be in the operators manual. Available free downloads from Husqvarna website.

Husqvarna z246 Zero Turn mower, 2015 model. When I turn the key nothing happens except the lights will come on and the hour meter will come on, will not crank, make any noise, nothing.

ZTR mowers typically require the following safeties;
  1. Steering arms out
  2. Parking break ON
  3. PTO - OFF
  4. Seat occupied (may or may not be required)

Cycle all the safeties above. If still no crank try holding ignition switch in start position then try moving steering arm(s) in out, park break, PTO, and bounce on the seat. If still no crank, trace circuit from ignition switch "S" pole through all safety switches to starter solenoid with DMM or simple auto circuit tester.

Low on oil ,added oil monitor won t stop blinking is there a reset button disconnected battery still blinking

The hour meter displays the total operating
time.
It will flash CHG OIL (Change Oil) at 50 hour
intervals. The flash duration is one hour
before and one hour after the interval. The
CHG OIL icon will come on and shut off
automatically. The hour meter can not be
manually reset.

Riding Lawn Mower Completely Dead

Sounds like the battery gave out.
If the battery test good then you most likely have an inline fuse that is blown out.

Battery dead won't charge battery is brand new

try to trickle charge it four about five hours then see if it"ll crank over. put on bike check voltage should read 12.6v...then start engine and rev up to 3000rpm and watch with the meter the voltage will spike up to about 13,5 to 14v and then will quickly drop down to 13v. this means the regulator is doing it job.

Bike was left on and battery fully discharged. It

Were you having trouble with the battery before this incident? If not, then charge the battery with a charger...NOT a trickle charger...for 12 hours. After this, check the voltage with a volt-ohm meter, it should read 12v -14v. Install in the bike, connect and check it again with the volt-ohm meter, it should hold the same reading as off the bike.

Try to start the bike, if it starts, check the battery again, now it should read 14v or a little more. Turn everything off and try to start it again. If it starts, the battery is still good but don't leave it on like that anymore.

If you get anything less than 12v after ther charge, the battery most likely has a dead cell and needs to be replaced.

Wont start

Your battery is junk. Replace it.
Lead/acid batteries lose about 1% of their charge per day, so in 90 days of non-charging they are basically discharged. This is a bad thing. When winter comes, put a smart trickle charger on it, or at least once a month put a non-smart trickle charger on it for a couple hours or an afternoon so you keep it charged up.
I love/hate batteries.
