Ice Maker Works, Water Dispenser Doesn't

Water is no longer coming out from the door water dispenser (we have a side-by-side Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer).
We always replace the water filter and even removed it to see if the water would work, didn't help. I know that water is coming in b/c the Ice Maker is still working.
Is it possible that the water line for the water dispenser is frozen, but not for the ice maker? What can we do to fix this?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have the exact same problem with my Whirlpool side by side refrigerator (ED22TEXHW00) no water but ice maker works fine. I took the front cover off of the ice/water dispenser and found that the plastic retaining pin/clip for the micro-switch that is actuated by the water dispenser lever was broken. I found the broken piece and tried gluing it back on with JB Weld and now I'm waiting on it to dry. Hope this works so I don't have to located and purchase the entire piece that the plastic retaining pin/clip broke off of.

I have a whirlpool side by side. water and ice in front. ice working and water not. the hose is not frozen and it is not humming when you push the water dispenser. It would give us water and quit but now we have nothing.

Water dispenser won't work

check the freezer door switch; this is a safety so the ice maker wont come on while the door is open

The ice maker works fine but we can no longer dispense ice from the door. No sound, nothing. Water dispenser works fine though.

There is a micro switch behind the panel above the dispenser lever. It's the switch that the leaver presses on when you push a glass into it to fill with water. Pop the panel off and you will see the little black switch I'm refering to.

Ice maker not working ; water dispenser ok

The reason could be several different possibilities. the water control valve for the ice maker no longer works or one of the many components inside the ice maker is needing replace or adjusted. Go to link below and enter model ED5VHGXM into model search. Click on photo #12 ice maker and you get a breakdown of of all the parts. Let me know, Sea Breeze

Ice maker stopped working, though the water spigot still works from the door dispenser. How do I troubleshoot this problem?

On the back and near the floor there is a water control valve. One side controls water to the dispenser and the other is for the ice maker. Need to test the one that goes to ice maker first by checking the solenoid coil with an ohm meter or put household voltage to it and it should open and send water up to ice maker. If not there then check the pipe coming into freezer from outside for freezing water in pipe. We will go further when you are ready. Let me know when you are able to do these things, I will be here, Thanks, Sea Breeze

In door ice dispenser does not work but the water dispenser does.

check to make sure there is water or ice in your ice maker tray. If none then problem is usually a water supply issue to the ice maker. Behind the frig are the water supply inlet valves. One is for the water dispenser in the door. THe other is for the ice maker. However when one goes bad they both are replaced as one unit. Also Check position of fingers in ice maker. If not in a vertical position then try to reset the ice maker unit and worse comes to worse, replace it with a new one.

GS6SHEXMLoo side by side ice dispenser not working

On advice from the tech I removed acess door. It was covered by frozen moisture.
I removed the motor it was full of water. I verified 120 volts at plug to motor from control
by depressing the door switch and ice dispenser lever at same time. The motor ohms out
but because of amount of water removed from it I am going to replace it and see what happens.

Ice Dispenser Doesn't work...

sounds like the water coming into the icemaker is spilling over or leaking into the ice despenser bucket.... check for ice build up or plugging of water chut into ice maker
