In all honesty, there is really no point in trying to fix this problem. Check for the PS3 Vantage USB Mic Logitech at Gamestop. You can pick this up for about $20 and is well worth spending the money for instead of the aggravation of trying to fix the old one.

Guitar Hero Guitar with Rock Band disc

It depends on which version of Rock band you are playing, Rock band 1 will not work with Guitar Hero guitars at all, but Rock Band 2 on the wii will except them. and for the microphone you have to have a seperate wiimote sync'd up tho count as the controller for the the game to recognize the mic.

I cant get the microphone to work for guitar hero for the wii

The microphone for the Wii connects to a usb port in the rear of the unit. Make sure that the microphone that you are attempting to use is a usb mic (rectangular end) and not a headphone jack type.

PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour Microphone stopped working

POSTED @ 1713 (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) FEBRUARY 6, 2009 BY JOEBOBMCSLOB:

I know it's frustrating but here goes:

  1. Get a PS3 camera (PLAYSTATION EYE - is what mine says on the back). Not sure if it HAS to be the one from Sony (Playstation Eye) or if any other will work, but my PS3 camera from Sony I bought did work perfectly for this "crack"
  2. Unplug the Guitar Hero microphone and set it off to the side somewhere. IT MUST BE UNPLUGGED FROM THE PS3 FOR THIS TO WORK
  3. Go into the Guitar Hero game and plug in your PS3 camera, the blue light on the camera will come on
  4. Now plug in the Guitar Hero microphone
  5. Now go to the training mode, or start a band, or whatever you want and you will see that the vocals are enabled
  6. Simply unplug your PS3 camera and you can use the microphone that came with Guitar Hero, like you're supposed to be able to
I know this is a BAD, BAD, BAD experience for you to go through, but I think it had something to do with PS3 system updates after they released all the hardware and software for Guitar Hero III. Hopefully you didn't return all your gear already...

I don't work for Sony, I'm an electrical engineer/gamer hobby enthusiast.

Hope that helps!

Cheers!

Broken guitar hero - please help

If you bought it at a physical store you should be able to return the product and explain to them that a cord was missing before you even used it.
