Here are two things to try: I- Using the Power button:
1 Press and hold the Power button for at least 4 seconds.
2 Swipe-down the shutdown confirmation screen to the bottom
edge of the display to turn off the tablet.

1 Swipe-in from the right edge of the display to access Charms.

To delete an app off your tablet you can hold your finger on the app and a bar will pop up at the bottom of the screen with the option to uninstall the app.

i had the same thing happen twice know. what i think it is, is that the screen for some reason glitches out and becomes unresponsive. i havent updated mine. to shut the device off when it has these glitches i hold down the sleep button and the volume down button. then press the sleep button to start the device. hope this is your only problem. gl
Does this mean it's just bricked? More information please! Did you try holding the power button down for a few seconds to shut it down then restart? Did you try going into the BIOS?
