Unlike older Dysons, the DC25 Ball's wand is designed to stick out of the bottom when in the stowed position. Pulling the wand up out of its stowed position closes the bottom flap which, through a cam mechanism, redirects the suction from the brushes to the wand. Try removing the bin and looking at the round transparent plastic cam mechanism above the ball while extracting the wand from its fitted position. You should see the flap below the wand close, the cam mechanism rotate a quarter of a turn and the flexi pipe behind the cam change position. If everything looks ok then check the flexi hose for cuts - you may be losing suction from there. If everything seems to be fine, come back with more information and I'll get my thinking hat on.
Hello Collet .
First I would check the hose at the bottom of the machine to see if its blocked , then I would take off the pipe at the base of the machine and then push a pole through it to clear any blockage also take the wand out completely this should solve the problem.
also goggle the make of the dyson vac and get an exploded view of the parts and you'll see how they fir and can then be replaced or new parts bought etc
hope this is of assistance

HI,
FIRSTLY DETACH WAND FROM UNIT AND SLIDE HOSE DOWN AS FAR AS IT GOES, SPRAY A LITTLE WD40 OVER WAND AND SLIDE HOSE UP AND DOWN, AS FOR THE CAP, TAKE A PAIR OF PLIARS, GRAB HOLD OF END OF CAP AND PULL CAP FULLY OUT OF THE HANDLE,AT THIS POINT CHECK THE SPRING OR REMOVE THE SPRING IF YOU PREFER AND PUSH THE CAP BACK INTO HANDLE AND THAT WILL DO IT FOR YOU.
REGARDS
DAZ
