Smoke alarms beep in two different ways: it beeps continuously when smoke is present, and it beeps every so often (intermittently) when the battery needs to be replaced.
All smoke alarms beep if the battery is too low. Getting a used battery isn't good enough for smoke alarms. Even getting a new battery from a dollar store (a cheap no name brand import store) will not do... it has to be the newest and it has to be alkaline. once you put it in... press the button for 10 seconds... first you will hear it's own alarm then you will hear the others attached to it in the whole system chime in (if you have that type) the alarm will now sit quietly.
The alarm started beeping when I was backing up. And then it was also beeping when I had stopped and now it is beeping when I am in drive. This just started happening. I got the car washed at a car washing place, could this have something to do with it?
Hello. This is a normal response to the motions detector while people are active
within the home.
The alarm is a semi active mode that is the motions detector will beep, if a
door is open there could be active voice alarm or beeping from Central alarm
within the home. The same will happen if a window is opened, beep, beep, beep.
In this mode it lets the home owner while in his/her home that the alarm is
on and it will let you know when the doors, windows or floor pressure sensor is
activated.
There another mode for the alarm system that is if you have pets. It can be
activated that only things that are inactive is the motion and pressure sensors.
They beep but will not execute the full alarm system.
The there is full alarm system activation where every sensor is
operational----full Alarm On....
Now, if you don't like the beeping, then you can turn the alarm system off
while you or your husband is in the home. But it will not notify you if the
door, window, motion, pressure sensor are activated. I hope this help you.

I would try and get the owners manual for the alarm system and see what it says about the beeping. It could be that it is just telling you it needs a new battery installed, something like the battery operated smoke detectors do when the battery is low. There are so many alarm systems out there that it is hard to tell what could be causing the beeping. It could have been configured with a audible alert that when the system is tripped by any motion it beeps when off. It is really hard to say without the manual. You can usually find the manuals on line at the manufacturers website. Good Luck, RAC
