SOURCE: I have a Kenmore 106.56163500 that the ice dispenser is not working. I have replaced the ice auger motor. When you depress the ice door lever nothing happens. What next?

The new augur motor is not being energized. Check the circuitry that feeds it power and you will find the source of the issue.

Kenmore cold spot refrigerator model # 106.56662500 ice is not dispensing through the door. How do I fix it?

This is common in these units. When the dispenser lever is depressed, an auger motor rotates the auger wire. When the auger rotates, it pushes the ice toward the dispenser door and chute. When the auger is defective, it isnt able to push the ice out of the dispenser. You need to check the auger to determine if it is broken or disconnected from the auger motor. If the auger is broken, replace it.

Ice maker does not dispense ice through the door

Hello. I had the same problem. I replaced the auger motor(around$95) 3 times and would only last about a little longer than a year. I bought the 4th one but this time, I wanted to diagnose the issue. So it turns out that the auger motor goes installed with the impeller upwards. What was happening was that if a piece of ice would stay in the dispenser chamber and melt, the water would go into the auger motor eventually causing the auger casing to get full of water and slow it down or short it out. I took the casing apart and noticed that there was a small space between the motor and the casing. I drilled 2 nice sized holes in the dimple of the new motor very gently as to not drill into the impeller motor and installed the auger. To this day, 3 years later, no more having to buy new auger motors. Hope this helps!

Icemaker is making ice but the ice dispenser is not working

Check the ice storage container. The ice dispenser will not dispense ice until the first supply ice has dropped into the ice storage container.Remove excess ice from the back of the ice container. Make sure ice cubes are not jammed between the ice maker and the back of the ice container.

---------------------

The auger won't engage or turn to dispense ice.Remove the ice bucket and with a hair dryer warm up the inside where the fork is that turns the auger in the bucket and try it and if this does not help then you will have to replace the auger motor ,, chances are the motor is just froze up .--------

If there is nothing jammed then try this./Remove the ice bin out.And then clean the ice bin.

Rotate the auger with your hand.If its hard then there is problem with auger motor. If the auger is not rotating fine then its faulty auger motor or the auger motor is frozen,if you notice ice getting collected there.

---------------

Take a hair dryer and blow hot air on the auger motor for few minutes.Take care you dont blow hot air continuously.

But if that is not helping then disconnect auger motor connecting wire wait for 2 minutes clean the connector and reconnect the connector back and see.If that is not helping at all. Then, replace the auger motor.

Ice dispencer not dispensing ice

Ouch, if your auger won't turn, pull out the ice tray unit. At the back you will see the gear for the auger unit. Try and move it, both clockwise and counterclockwise. If it won't turn - you have a motor problem and needs replacement. If it turns too freely, then you have a weak motor and it will not push the ice.

GE refrigerator model GSS22 WGMD ice maker motor

If you cant manually turn your auger motor, it may be bad. Does it dispense solid ice or no ice at all? Another thing may be your control panel. That could be bad too, it's the one sending juice to both your solenoid and auger motor.

The icemaker makes ice, but it won't dispense.

rmielsen and PhyllisForbe,  Your refrigerator has an auger motor that causes the ice to be dispensed when you press the ice selector on the front of the refrigerator.  You could have several possible problems that will gives you the same result.  The auger motor could be at fault. The ICE selector part of the  control panel of the front of the refrig could be at fault.  To isolate to auger or control... do the following.  Remove the ice bucket or auger assembly from the freezer. Reach into the freezer compartment where the auger assembly normally would be.  You should be able to see a "horse shoe shaped metal drive assembly" that would mesh with the auger assembly (ice bucket) to turn the cork screw shaped auger. Try and turn the auger drive assembly in rear of freezer to determine if motor armature is free.  The is somewhat difficult to do because the auger motor is high torque, slow rpm motor, but it should turn if it is good. Sometimes the auger motor will become stuck due to a water leak, inactivity, high humidity during a defrost cycle, etc.  The more possible suspect is the ICE selector assembly on the front of the refrigerator.  If any function on the refrig fountain dispenser control panel goes bad...then the ice/water control assembly will need to be replaced.  Hopes this helps you!  HandyHenry
