Hello gen0313 - From what you are describing it sounds like the unit could possibly have a broken shock/bearing or damaged tub. A certified technician will need to accurately diagnosis the bearing and pulling system behind the drum for repairs.
Hello Gary Sargent - From what you have described it sounds like you either have a problem with the belt, front and/or rear bearing, or a loose connection with the motor or drum. I recommend contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the issue, the part(s) may have to be replace depending if they are worn, damaged or loose.
