Usually the fan is turned on by the door switch, and a thermodisk, located on the freon line near the evaporator coil in the freezer...this disk have to be cold enough before the fan come on..

Samsung SRS583 HDP fridge stop working. freezer stopped first and fridge became hot too. wHAT MAY BE THE REASON? And how to fix this?

  • Be sure the fridge is plugged in and getting power. The light should come on when you open the door.
  • Check the thermostat to make sure it hasn't been turned way down by mistake. If your fridge/freezer thermostat isn't working,
  • Be sure the vents on the back of the freezer compartment aren't blocked by boxes of ice cream or frozen vegetables-the vents have to be clear for cold air to circulate.
  • Vacuum the coils under or behind the fridge. Clogged coils can cause poor cooling.
  • Check to make sure nothing is stuck in the condenser fan and that it spins freely (models with coils on the back won't have a fan). To do this, unplug the fridge and pull it out. Clean the fan blades and spin the fan by hand to see if it's stuck. Plug in the fridge and make sure the fan runs when the compressor is running. If the fan doesn't run, replace it.

We had a power surge today and now our samsung rb193kasb the freezer is working fine but the fridge is not. We replaced the evaporator fan a month ago. Is there anything esle that could be the problem?

Not a lot you can do about this. Unplug it and wait about 5 minutes and see if it works when you plug it back in. The unit is controlled by a micro computer and could have been damaged by the power surge. You may claim it on your insurance though

Frig wont cool fan not running freezer working

fan is not working thus u have very little cold air circulating into the fridge. check the fan with a multi meter for continuity? it may be out? When u say freezer working? is there an ice build up ? if so u may have a bad defrost terminator or defrost timer, which in turn blocks the fan from working due to ice build up?

Why won't my samsung rb193kasb freezer fan run and the freezer is warm? How do i fix this?

On some Samsung frdge-freezers,fan blades get stuck in ice build-up inside refrigerator compartment due to automatic de-frost not working properly. If you have time, simply switch off and leave fridge door open, and allow defrost to happen naturally. Alternatively, speed up defrost using bowls of hot water, and remove panel at back when enough ice has melted

Samsung model RB193KASB Fridge seems to be not as

Hello,
Insufficient cooling is a fridge repair job that you can do without the help of a professional. Often the fridge has a frost-free failure, or the compressor is faulty but there are many other reasons for a fridge not cooling properly.
Step 1 – Find the Problem

Your first job is to locate the source of the problem. Consider each of the following:

* Gaskets - Make sure the gaskets/seals are not torn and are sealing properly.
* Evaporator fan – Make sure it is working. If it is now working you may have a problem with the fan motor. Check for power to the motor and also examine the fan switches around the door (not all fridges have these switches).
* Air damper – Sometimes the air damper will not open up to allow the cold air from the freezer part to blow into the fridge section.
* Condenser coils – Check to see that the condenser coils don’t have a dust build-up and that the condenser motor is working.
* Compressor – Make sure your compressor is working with on and off clicking noises.

Step 2 – Frost-Free Failure

This is the most common cooling problem in fridges. Expose the evaporator coils by accessing the panel in the freezer section. The coils in the freezer section can sometimes get clogged up with frost. This can stop the evaporator fan motor from blowing cold air around, or cause the fan to hit it and stop, or become noisy. The defrost timer can be a bit tricky to find but it is usually located behind the back bottom corners of the fridge, although they can sometimes be found in the ceiling of the fresh food section, or behind the cold control cover.
Step 3 – Find the Timer

When you find the timer, turn the wheel-like screw slowly with a screwdriver until the fridge shuts off. The refrigerator is now defrosting. If you find that the fridge starts now, you will need to replace the defrost thermostat and the defrost timer.
Step 4 – Volt Test

If the heaters do not come on, use a volt meter to ohm test the defrost heater or volt test for 120 volts to the heater. You can bypass the defrost thermostat if you haven’t got power to the defrost heater to check if the defrost heater will come on. To bypass the thermostat, join the two wires together. Replace the defrost thermostat and the defrost timer if the heater comes on now.

If there is a ticking or squealing noise in the defrost timer, or it seems hot to touch, replace it.

Many fridges have and inline fuse on both sides of the defrost heater. You will need to replace the whole heater if one of those fuses blows. Check these fuses with a volt meter if the defrost heater doesn’t work.

A quick check if you have a cooling problem is to inspect the evaporator coils. If there is a build up of white snow on the coils, this indicates a frost free problem; if there is balled ice on part of the coils with the rest bare, this indicates a system problem, like a problem with the pumping compressor.

Hope this helpout...

Freezer light blinking Ice maker not making ice freezer not as cold

sounds like ur freezer is in alarm due to not being cold enough and wont allow the ice maker to distribute water to be frozen into ice u should have a fan behind the back panel inside the freezer make sure it is working and the coil underneath it is not frozen solid if the fan isnt working then check and make sure it has power if it does and the fans not running then replace the fan and this should get ur freezer working again but if the coil is frozen and the fan is running then u may have a bad defrost element that runs through the coil it is black u can test it by taking the wires off it and checking continuity thru it if it has continuity then its ok if not then it needs replacing

Samsung Fridge Freezer (Freezer on top)Model SR-52NXA wont cool

Depends a bit on whether the compressor really is running, or if it's just humming because it's got power on the run coil, but not on the start coil.

Have a careful listen to the compressor. If it's making the trilling or gurgling sounds that go with a working compressor, then your problem is probably one of lost gas. Fixing this is not a do-it-yourself job.

If the compressor sounds like it's stalled, the problem may lie with the starter. Replacements are usually cheap enough for it to be worth fitting a new one just to see if it works.
