There is no water going to the ice machine, there is water in the door. Do you have any suggestion We have side by side fridge

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Freezing ice maker water tube

I believe the problem you are having is a simple fix. What I think is happening is that even when the water is off to the ice maker the dual water control valve that feeds water to ice maker is not sealing or closing all the way.So a little water is leaking when off just enough to allow the water to slowly freeze blocking the fill tube and sometimes to the point that when the water does come on it goes everywhere but the ice maker making a big icy mess. The only fix is to replace the dual water control valve part number Click here=> WR57X10032 and click here=> PSC23SGRBSS GE Water Valve Location will be photo #800 in picture. 864-487-4851 If need you may contact me here on Fixya or my Forum=> Appliance 911 My contact information is located above the Fixya Ad on my blog here=> Sea Breeze Appliance Parts and Technical Services, www.pcappliancerepair.com

I Ice maker keeps freezing and it builds up so

Either your water flow is too strong, your fill tube has dislodged from your Ice Maker, or your water valve is clogged with lime and defective.
I would opt for the obvious culprit, the fill valve. These are easy to replace and not expensive. First turn off the water to your refrigerator. Pull your fridge from the wall and follow the opaque tube at the top of your fridge down to the little aqua blue device with 2 wires connected to it. Note that fridges with cold water and ice have a dual valve with 4 wires but look similar. There will be 1 or 2 screws holding that in. Remove that valve and record the model number. Call either Searspartsdirect.com or 1stsource parts for replacement, or find a local dealer who has good prices. Replace the hoses in the order you removed them and you should be fine.

Leaking water in icemaker. water from icemaker leaks into freezer and freezes on freezer wall

If you are sure that it's coming from the ice maker I believe that you possibly have a leaking water control valve on the side for the ice maker on the rear of refrigerator near floor there is a dual water valve control. Many times when this happens the water will freeze in the fill tube that fills the ice maker in the rear of freezer. You can defrost the frozen water in the fill tube with a hair dryer but that will not stop the problem from coming back. When that happens water tends to at times go everywhere but the ice maker. You can test the water control valve several ways. By unplugging the side to the ice maker and if water continues to flow slowly to the ice maker then the dual water control valve will need replaced, Sea Breeze

Frigidaire refrigerator, ice maker

If the ice maker is doing the normal cycle and when calls for water doesn't get any, probably the fill tube to the ice maker is clogh with ice because the dual valve (solenoid) is leaking and this water freezes up clogging the fill tube , or the solenoid doesn't work ,in both cases it has to be replaced(it's located in the back of the refrigerator attached to the water supply line).

I ice maker keeps freezing in our side by side GE fridge.

This annoying problem can have a variety of causes. Check these four things first:
  1. Make sure the water supply is greater than 20 psi. If too low, thewater valve won’t seat properly and it’ll “weep.” Common causes of lowpressure are gunked-up saddle tap valves, kinked water supply line, andusing a reverse osmosis filter to supply water to the icemaker.
  2. Check between the valve diaphram and valve seat for sediment. If found, do not attempt to repair, buy a new valve.
  3. Check to see if the black, flexible portion of the fill tube iswrinkled, twisted, or kinked which can cause ice dams that block thefill tube.
  4. Find out if the water has been shut off while the icemaker has kepton cycling. This, too, can cause the fill tube to freeze up.
If all the above checks out and you’re still getting fill tube freeze-ups,then best get a service guy to take a look. It could be a complicated repair.

Ice maker isn't filling with water. Water is on and ice maker is on. It's been humid.

Likely that the water supply tube to the icemaker is frozen. It will be a white rubber tube on the right side of the icemaker. Warm it with a hair dryer, remove it from its aluminum tubing, and make sure there is no ice all the way back to where the supply tube comes from the water valve. After thawing, your icemaker should start working again.

Now..... why did it freeze? Most likely, there is a restricted airflow to the back of the unit, which is need to keep that aluminum supply tube just warm enough to assure all the water flow OUT of it into the icemaker, and doesn't freeze up on contact. Make sure your coils and the airspace under the fridge are completely clean (vacuuum them well) and it should cure the problem.

Freezing food and leaking water

faulty water valve will cause the issues with the ice maker fill tube , possible faulty air damper will cause the fridge to get too cold
