SOURCE: hp pavilion ze4300 white screen on boot

It is likely to be either a faulty screen or a faulty screen cable. As the backlight is working and only the data is missing.

SOURCE: Hp pavilion dv9000 wont boot, coloured lines appear no bootscreen

This is caused by burn out of the Nvidia graphics chip on the motherboard. You need a new motherboard. This is due to a design flaw (the subject of a class action against HP in the USA). I have had two motherboards fail on me in this way so far - do not expect any worthwhile support from the HP "support" people they are all in India and can hardly communicate outside of their simple repetative scripts. Its impossible to escape them - I tried communicating with head office but all you get is contact details back to the incomprehensible Indian call centre. I strongly recommend against ever purchasing from HP again.

How do i fix my hp laptop screen displaying white

1) Check if the laptop is able to be shown on an external monitor. If it shows up, then it is a screen issue on the laptop.

OR

2) But if it doesn't show up on the external monitor, then its video problem on the laptop motherboard. The video chip is part of the laptop board, it solders on. So its not user replaceable like how it is on a desktop.

Desktop video, if the on board/discrete card doesn't work, then you simply get a video card and plug that into the computer. Install the new driver after removing the existing driver (on board or old video card) and then your good to go.

I have an all white screen when I. start my computer

From the descrition this is a motherboard problem, Hp is well known for issues of this sort. Hook a spare monitor to the video output usually on the back, if picture okay! there is a problem with the new screen. But if both show the same symptoms it is the Video Graphics Card normally built into the motherboard. If that is the case a motherboard replacement will be expensive.

PB Minos GP2W screen has coloured lines fades white then black

Most likely it's graphic card problem, but also may be monitor itself. First, check the signal by connecting to TV (if yours has a PC input), then replace card if that shows the same.

Black screen with HP logo in center of screen. I checked to make sure my ram strips were seated tightly.

Can you enter the bios when its first switched on? ( press F2 or F10?)

Remove power, take the battery out, wait for 5minutes then try and startup again with only mainspower. If that works, shut down replace battery and power and startup.

If none of that works sounds like faulty mainboard. You could also try and and boot from a PE disk, like Bart PE or Knoppix if you can download and burn form another PC. This way you'll also be able to get your files off easily if it is kaput.

Laptop Screen faded white

There are a couple of possibilities.

1. A cable has come loose inside the computer4.gif.

2. A cable has become defective.

3. The LCD is defective.

If you wiggle the LCD back and forth and you can get the picture to work again intermittently then answers 1 & 2 above would be more likely.
