How to fix refrig that is set on warmest setting and is still freezing item in refrig

probably a faulty thermostat as changing settings should make a difference
with fridges ( beverage coolers) the lower the number the colder the setting
have it checked by a technician before making the replace decision

My Avanti's temperature control is numbered 1 -5, and after 5 is MAX.
There is a separate control in the freezer section, but that is another matter.

As a matter of fact, in any refrigerator with a temp control, turning it towards the RIGHT will always result in COLDER.

If you open the door dozens of times an hour, you'd probably want to keep it on MAX.

If not, then MAX setting might begin to freeze some of the items you do not want frozen. If you are a normal user, try setting to 3.

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS23KF7AB, is so cold that it is freezing liquids inside the refrigerator area. I also see that you have it set on the warmest setting. Due to the ice on the vent ( damper ) , the damper is probably frozen open , so it will not close , causing the refrig section to keep on getting colder . Put your hand over the vent and feel the air being circulated . Use a hair dryer on the vent for a time and ocassionally feel the vent to see if the vent closes stopping the air flow .

What is your refrigerator cold setting? Try lowering the temp to to the medium setting.

Items in the lower part of the fridge will freeze if the setting is too high. (P.S. Cold air "sinks" so the lower part of the fridge will be colder. Cutting the "number" setting on the fridge does stop air flow though.

It takes 12 to 24 hours to realize a new setting's effect. Go slow.

likely a bad temperature control. also, some model GE's have a bad fresh food inlet cover, that fails to cutoff airflow from the freezer.

make sure the air passages are not blocked with food produts the other fix might be to un plug refrig and let it defrost for a day make sure you leave doors open

act have actually closed freezer control to coldest setting and had items freeze in the fridge side where air from freezer first enters fridge a lower temp in freezer should help ice production
