LG LHD45 dehumidifier "bucket full" light stays on continuously.

I have a LG LHD45 dehumidifier and the "bucket full" light stays on even though the bucket is empty. Do I need to replace the level switch or can I just tie the wires together if I cannot locate a switch? Note that the bucket float mechanism seems in good order and the switch is not stuck in place (moves freely).

I have the exact same problem. I suspect this is the same as the "CH 01" problem others had with a different unit that seemed to be the bucket switch. I still need to confirm.

The switch that says 'Bucket is full' is not adjusted properly.
It will need to be adjusted, normally a screw driver or pliers,
so that when its empty the switch is not made or the contacts
are open.
If it is in adjustment properly, then the switch is bad and needs
replacing.
Before you replace it, check to make sure the wires leading to it
are not touching, it may be sending a signal meaning 'full' by
electricaly touching each other at the switch.

SOURCE: LG DEHUMIDIFIER LHD459ELY9 LIGHT FOR "BUCKET

This usually caused by one of two things. The bucket is not installed properly or the float valve in the bucket is stuck in the UP position. The float valve is not in all models.

Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it. Remove the bucket, look in the top of the bucket on the left side closest to you. If you see a float valve you have that model. If the float is in the UP position, jiggle it so that it will return to the down position. Then reinstall the bucket. Plug the cord back in and turn the unit ON.

If you don't have a float valve, make sure, when you reinstall the bucket, that it fits "squarely" into the holder from top to bottom. When installed properly, the bottom of the bucket should not tilt down at all. The top, back side of the bucket must make firm contact with the bucket removal safety switch.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

The bucket full light stays on while it is empty. the humidity control doesn't change. the unit is not going on.

There should be a switch that is activated by a float lever that if tripped will make the bucket full light stay on, and will prevent the unit from going on.

If this light is on when the bucket is empty, maybe try to jiggle the float lever, or investigate why the switch is activated when the bucket is empty.

Good luck on this repair.

Red full light blinks, humidity level stays at 01, runs for one second or not at all.

I just now noticed this posting even though it is now November. I will post this in case you still have the dehumidifier & haven't solved the problem yet, or for those who may be searching for a solution later.

The 01 code & the blinking light indicates that the defrost sensor is probably shorted. Replace the sensor assembly with part #6877A30013L. It includes the humidity sensor & defrost thermistor & plugs onto the main circuit board for an easy repair. Sears lists it on their website for 9.99 + shipping.
