Have a craftsman electric start 46 inch mower 6 speed.model number 917.272950 need to know what the carburetor part number is please.

the bowl is usually located on the bottom of the carburator

Go to Craftsman, Order Tree or Parts Tree.com and input your model number. Choose the correct tab and go to the mower deck. It will give you a good over view of how the belt routes. Hope this helps.

Somewhere on your mower there is a model number that will look like this:

917.273011 (46 inch)
0r 917.258671 (42 inch)

Without that number I can not get you the correct part numbers or exact parts reference.
Once you locate your model number go to
http://www.searspartsdirect.com
and enter your MODEL number and click GO. You will then be able to order any MOWER DECK parts that you need.

You have to post the model number from under seat. Not all Craftsman decks are the same. There are 38", 42", 46" w/3 blades, 46" w/ 2 blades, 52", etc.. Better yet, Get the model number under the seat (starts with 917) and go to... http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action Then enter the model #, hit search, then scroll down to Browse Subcomponent List and click on Mower Deck. There's your diagram.
