Try putting another monitor to it by using a vga cable,if your other monitor does not show windows, then it could be your screen has gone.

Want to factory reset my asus g71g laptop

So I assume "blue screen?" If so, you may have a memory error. Or it could be a number of things...you won't have to redo your computer to fix this. We just need to methodically go through the steps to correct the problems. First, are you able to go into safe mode? Press the "F8" key over and over and over during start up until you come to a black screen with options for starting the system. If you can do this, then choose "safe mode with networking" let me know if you are able to do this. Plus, what Antivirus program are you currently using?

ASUS G71G - my LCD screen flickers and goes blank sometimes. i found that there were several complaints about the flickering on the same model all over the web. In this case i believe that it is directly...

Check out www.insidemylaptop.com for pictures but if you remove the four rubber bungs in the corners of the display bezel and then remove the screws, the front bezel will come away from the screen allowing access to the wires. I suspect there is a plug hanging out.
Hope that helps.

How can i bring asus G71G back to factory after i wiped the disk

Hello and thank you for using Fixya!

You will need to order the restore disks from the manufacturer. They usualy charge around $30.00 (US) plus shipping.

These are always great to have "just in case" you need them in the future. You can call the Asus support or visit them on the web.

My Asus G71G-A1 Notebook freezes on startup and makes short beeps

Have you tried entering the 'Safe Mode?'
By tapping either F5 or F8 right after power on, you will interrupt the normal (currently ABnormal) Windows boot path and see a menu that will let you enter a mode with a terrible scattered Desktop but only very few Windows functions installed. One of the latter is probably bollixed.
If it worked OK in the last days, you may be able to use the saved (good) condition by reverting to it via the Restore routine. You can start this by clicking on Start, then Run, then entering in the provided window:
rstrui.exe
then click on OK.
Just follow the simple directions. This will not affect your recent (or past) work, it only restores settings and freshens files to a condition of an earlier point in time when things were good.
This won't always fix your problem if you have been invaded by some spiffy malware but it is a good place to start.
