I need to remove and clean the filer. Cannot determine how the filter is removed from the unit.

Putting the air flier back in will proabal not give you air, but it will not hurt the machine to put the flier back in.

Apparently the freon has escaped or the metering device for the freon is plugged up. Either way, it's expensive. Check your warranty for "sealed system" repairs.

check panel at rear of unit by return duct open panel look for slide tracks for filters around fan usually one above fan and one on an angle in front of fan

Look on the back of the unit. The filter is a removable plastic thing that slots in behind the air intake vent.
