What do you plan on doing with your old wireless router? You have a new one, are you trying to use the wireless part or the router part of the old one?

Inconsistant wireless signal in house

Have you checked that the signal on your new cable modem/router is strong enough to reach your wireless devices? You may need to re-site the cable modem to get better coverage in your home. Your old one probably worked fine in the same position but that doesn't mean a new one will. There are a few things you can try to get the best of the range it has. Internal walls and furnishings all play a part in reducing the effective range of the router. Most routers will give you at least 50 metres indoors. Keep the router as high and as far away from walls as you can, this will greatly improve the range. Try to ensure the router is not screened by large near by metal objects such as steel PC cases, these will absorb wireless signals and reduce the range.

Can you help me connect my Zonet Wireless AP Router ZSR2104WE now that I have purchased a new modem (Motorola DSL Modem 3360)?

You must hook these particular items up in a specific sequence. First power down both the modem and the router, only connect the modem to the isp until all appropriate lights on on. Next plug cat 5 to router where it is labeled internet or wan if neither label then to #1. until alights come up on router. Hope this helps.

The wireless light is not illuminated and i can't get it to work??

This is a sign of an old router/modem. Also, try unplugging all of plugs that connect to the router/modem. Also, is this affecting you in connecting to the internet? if so, I recommend purchasing a new router/modem. They are very cheap now-a-days. :)

Can I use old 2wire router to connect PC to new wireless router?

Hi, You can not use a router to connect a computer to another wireless router. You need to purchase a wireless adapter if you want to connect a computer wirelessly to the network. There seems no other way of doing this.

Let me know if you need any further help regarding this.

My wireless router cannot connect to my new server modem.

Try to power cycle the network.

1. Power OFF the router then modem
2. Wait for 5 minutes
3. Power ON the modem first and wait for the light to be steady.
4. When the lights are steady on the modem, turn on the router.
