My touch screen doesn't always work. Sometimes I have to touch all around the square and even then, it won't come on. At times, it stops working when I want to change patterns. It seems to work most of the time in the sewing mode, just problems when in the embroidery mode,

  • Anonymous Nov 21, 2007

Same here. Sometimes I have to hit way off to the right and lower than the button. Would love if someone could help.

  • HotmailMo Mar 11, 2009

Same problem - sometimes I reset and go around pressing the numbered squares, then other times that does not respond. Sometimes when I hit the reset buttons and turn it on, I see numbered squares from 1 to 20+. Is there another way of rebooting, or do I need to see the dreaded sewing machine repair guy?

Yes, I have a solution for this problem. Your screen needs to be recalibrated and you can do it yourself. Don't you wish they would just tell you this stuff instead of charging you an arm and a leg? Here's what to do: Before turning on the machine, press the start/stop button, the reverse button, and the needle position button all at once with one hand (one finger on each button). Hold them down and turn on the machine. What will come up is a recalibration screen. You will see the numbers 1-5 with a little plus sign beside them. Find a small blunt object (I used the tip of a mechanical pencil with the lead in instead of out) and while holding the start/stop button, touch the plus sign beside 1-5 in numerical order. Then, turn the machine off and on again in the normal way. This should recalibrate the screen. Pass it along, people! This is something no one should have to pay for!

When your BabyLock Esante ESi2 is otherwise working fine but the LCD display screen begins to grow darker and you find you just can't read it, the only thing you can do is replace the BabyLock Esante ESi2 LCD screen, or buy a new machine. BabyLock no longer stock this item direct, but there is an affordable replacement available....Check this Link

I've been fighting with this for so long! I was thinking I would have to take it in because it just keeps getting worse. I couldn't even adjust stitch length or width. Thank you so much for this incredibly easy fix!!!

HOW TO RECALIBRATE TOUCH-SCREEN ON BABYLOCK ESANTE ESE

1. Make sure machine is turned "OFF".
2. Remove embroidery card.
3. Remove embroidery arm.
4. With one finger on each button, hold down
"stop/start button, "reverse" button, and
"needle position" button.
5. While continuing to hold down all three
buttons, turn machine "ON".
6. The recalibration screen will appear with
numbers 1 thru 5 with a "+" sign next to it.
7. Release "reverse" button and "needle position"
button but continue to hold down "stop/start"
button and using a small blunt object touch the "+"
sign next to each number in numerical order.
8. Release "stop/start" button.
9. Wait 20 seconds and turn the machine "OFF" and "ON"
again in the normal manner.
10 Turn machine "OFF" again and replace embroidery arm.
IF THIS DOES NOT CORRECT THE SCREEN YOU CAN TRY
REPEATING THE PROCESS.

Thank you!!! My screen was shifted downwards. I brought it into Linda Z's in Arlington Heights, IL and they told me I needed a new computer circuit/screen for $1000! Or they offered to keep my machine and TRASH it!!! I said no way and took it home. I found these instructions and within 1 minute my machine works beautifully. I would never patronize that store. For years they have sold and serviced computerized sewing machines so I know they were trying to "steal" my machine for them to resell.

I have X's by my numbers not plus signs, and touching them won't work. It is like the touch screen is broken.

One additional item I found. You will not get the 1-5 alignment screen on the esante Ese if the embroidery unit is attached or in place. First remove the embroidery unit then follow the instructions above. Remember to hold down the START button when pressing the 1-5 in sequence. The square box next to the number should advance as you press the + symbol next to each number.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Sewing Diva and Shellic! My Bernina store that sold me the esante originally told me I would need a new circuit board costing probably in excess of $1000. I searched online, this post came up, tried it, and viola!

I have an older Esante model and the solution with holding down the 3 buttons and then turning on the machine does not work. Please advise a different solution.
Thanks

Janome Memory Craft 10000 touch screen problem

Sometimes machine screens can be re-calibrated.

My Designer 1 sewing machine touch screen is frozen and won't calibrate or respond to touching. This is intermittent behavior. Sometimes it works, and sometimes not. Can you tell me what this is

Sounds to me like the plug-in connector from the screen is not firmly attached to the motherboard (directly behind the screen but inside the machine). This kind of problem doesn't take a factory trained technician. Ask various sewing machine dealers to whom they subcontract cleaning and adjustment. Ask people who sew whether they have the name of a repair person. Taking apart the machine and replugging the connection should be all of a 15 minute job.

Babylock Esante stopped. Just makes loud noise but won't move even manually.

You probably have a jam. Start digging under the bobbin area.

If you get it all cleaned up under there... and it still won't move. Time for service by a pro. Could be something horrid like a bent shaft.

Good luck

L have an Elna 1010 that has never been plugged in. Do I need to oil it before I use it? Is it ready to go after all these years?

check in the manual and see if it's self oiling or not,, some
machine parts are soaked in oil from the factory & don't need
to be oiled other machines have to be oiled,,if the manual doesn't
say then contact elna customer service and ask them.
I won't promise the machine will work or won't work if it's been
sitting for years ,sometimes the grease can become sticky and
hard.
you'll be able to tell as soon as you start sewing, make sure you
read the manual completely, that way you know what the machine
will do and what it won't do.
always use the proper needle for the fabric
and the proper foot
if you go over a seam and the machine seems to struggle, take your
foot off the foot pedal and use the handwheel to move the needle
manually over the seam, that way you don't bend a needle and cause
the machine to jump time.
also make sure to have a comfortable chair and good lighting and
a good seam ripper just in case of a mistake.
if you get frustrated while sewing, get up and walk around, that can
help clear your mind, I've had to do that plenty of times and I've
been sewing for 30 years.
if you don't have a manual send me a comment and I'll try to find you one.
there are several websites that have tutorials and other things for
a quilter,,
happy sewing

My grandmother recently gave me her industrial singer 49 d200ga machine, and i love it because it works fine. However, when I brought it home, the foot pedal stopped working properly. How can i get it

Is your industrial machine one that has a big motor mounted under the table? If so make sure the power cored is plugged in. Also if your pedal is not installed properly it will sometimes flip forward get bound up and won't allow the proper throw to run the motor. Since the pedal doesn't supply power check the linkage to the motor.

I have a husqvarna viking 5610 and it was an auction find. The reverse button doesn't work at all. It won't go in or anything. I've looked inside the back and it doesn't appear that...

Try setting the machine in direct sunlight with the back cover off and let it get nice and warm. It might even need a little assistance from a hair drier. Warm the area directly behind the reverse button. If you can get it to move a little, you will see which parts are moving. Use Tri-Flow on these parts and they may come loose without having to take it in for service. DO NOT USE WD-40 or 3-IN-1 oil. Go to a bicycle shop and get a small bottle of Tri-Flow liquid. If that won't work, any authorized Husqvarna Viking repair center should be able to take care of it for you. Don't force anything too hard. If you break anything, you may not be able to find parts as they are no longer available from the manufacturer.

Touch screen stopped working

Have you tried to recalibrate the touch screen in the Set Menu? If so, and it still doesn't respond, then the touch screen might have gone bad. This is something you should have a dealer repair. About a $200.00 repair.

I have a Janome MC9000. The touch screen is out

You need to adjust the screen. Turn the machine off. Press simultaneously the three buttons on the front (Start, reverse and stop) at the same time turn the machine on.

Press the crosses that appear on the screen and it should all be fine.
