Which interior light's ? Dash panel , dome etc.... One's that can be dimmed or not ?
All the light's are controlled by the SJB - smart junction box ,ford's body control module . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

What interior light ? Dash lights , courtesy , etc... or all interior light's ? checked all fuses and relays?? Where ? Did you check the rear compartment relay center #2 ? courtesy relay ? Did you have the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's in the BCM - body control module ? The BCM controls the lamps . Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop.

When it was working normally, did the light go out slowly when the door was shut ? If it did, it sounds like there is a fault in the electronics inside the interior light unit.
I suspect it wont be feasible to repair it and you'll need to buy a replacement unit.

If not, it is probably an earth fault in a connection from one of the door switches themselves, or the wires from the switches to the interior light unit.

This is usually because the self defrost hose has become clogged. Turn the unit off long enough to defrost the unit and get the ice out of the tube and blow out the tube and turn the fridge or freezer back on.
This should solve it for you.
