When I back my foot off the brake to slowly engage clutch on my automatic drive craftsman lawntractor lt1000, it jumps forward hard when I try to inch creep forward slowly. I also notice it doesnt move at all when I have the forward control in the slow or 1/3 engaged position. (It is smooth when going in reverse) Is there an adjustment or do I replace a belt?

The gear lever...move it to the forward position only slightly....not all the way forward...it'll move slower...

Transmission will not engage.

The transmission belt is probably loose or the clutch is faulty.

You didn't indicate what model number you have. You can download a manual here:http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals/21205/CRAFTSMAN-Lawn,-Tractor-L0306104?brand_name_search=917272672+CRAFTSMAN if the 917272672 isn't the right model go to www.searspartsdirect.com and enter you model number. When the parts come up look over on right had side of page for button to select manual. To start, you must have foot on clutch, PTO disengaged. The seat switch doesn't come into play until the PTO is engaged. Check for voltage at the B terminal on the start switch to be sure fuse is good. From there check the S terminal when you turn key to start. From there it goes to the clutch/brake switch (when depressed) then to pto clutch then to solenoid. GOOD LUCK!

Lt1000 hydrostatic drive stuck - will not engauge or disengauge

Does the tractor try to move or **** in any direction, if so you may want to check to see if the disk that controls the brakes is stuck, I've seen this many times.

How do I replace the main drive belt on a Craftsman LT1000 lawn tractor?I need a schematic

No you don't, it's easy. Pull all the cotter pins out of the deck mounting brackets until the deck is laying on the ground and slide the deck out to the side. Make sure the parking brake is engaged so you have enough slack for the belt and start in back and work your way forward. You should see a little picture there somewhere on the mower of how to thread the belts through the tension pulleys. Then, put the deck back on.

Lawnmower wont move in fwd or reverse

Is the brake sticking. On my craftsman mower there is a bar under the brake pedal that pushes back a lever when starting. And the lever sticks. I have to reach underneath and pull the lever forward and then the mower goes. I haven't found a solution to that yet.

Lawntractor does not move forward or backward

you might check the pulleys to see if shear pin has broken.
