Hi .Thanks For The Question. You Probably Have A Drain Problem, From The Freezer TO The Back Of The Fridge. Pull Fridge Away From Wall ,Remove Back Panel Clean All Coils. Locate Drain Hose From Freezer. Clean Tube. And Fridge Is A Bit Too Cold

Defrost heater or heater safety thermostat or defrost timer faulty.

You can turn the thermostat off for now to let the ice thaw out, if a door was left open there might not be anything wrong, but if it freezes up again sounds like you might have a bad defrost heater or defrost limit. Hope this helps

Most likely your defrost drain is frozen over due to a blockage in the defrost drain behind the rear wall of your freezer. Usually this is caused over a period of time or the refrigerator is leaning slightly allowing the water to slowly freeze over the hole.
