You need a megohmeter to test the line voltage wiring AND the compressor.

SOURCE: model 30gx faults code

Hi, the indoor chiller unit blower section will have a sheet glued to a panel on the unit that will tell you where and what the code 302 means on the unit. Then you will be able to make the repairs you kneed.

PS the numbers above show that this is a 3 ton unit, 38CKC036. The error code more than likely will be 3 flashes from the board followed by 02 flashes. I may be wrong on that , so correct me if I am.

Siemens QF230A keeps tripping after installation.

So likely you have a 3 wire dryer cord and a 3 wire branch circuit. The dryer neutral is bonded to the dryer frame and the third wire of the dryer plug.

There were code exceptions for dryers and stoves that allowed timer motor circuits to use the neutral as a current carrier and frame ground.

To use the GFCI for the dryer you will be required to add an additional conductor (new 3 wire+ground cable) and separate the neutral to frame bond in the dryer and use a 4 wire dryer cord.

Likely you also have some GFCI single pole breakers and replaced ungrounded receptacles with grounded (another code exception) and they work OK. The dryer and stove are different as there is current on the third wire where as on the ungrounded receptacle GFCI there is no 3rd wire.

In breif, the neutral (current carrier conductor) from the dryer must be isolated from the dryer frame and dryer ground (fault current carrier conductor).

Or just leave it the way it was.

Check with local authority with jurisdiction for local code requirements.

Error code 112. what is the problem?

Hi Pramesh

Not a normal carrier code, there may be a point between the 1.12 or 11.2

1. xx normally compressor 1 fault
2. 1.12 is compressor 1 condenser entering water thermistor fault, the unit will continue to run

If you follow this link you should be able to download the manual for this unit and that may help you further

I have a Carrier HFC-134a commercial chiller unit model 30HXA076RY-561AA. It runs 2 sides which are labeled A1 and A2. Over the past few weeks now the A1 side keeps shutting down (almost daily sometimes...

To start with, the more I look at a system, the more familiar I become with that unit. Also, these machines can make me look like a genius or a fool! If you have a pressure switch problem, it's more than likely an expansion valve issue. I've seen a 2 month old Carrier, 4 compressors at 6 tons each, fail due to their expansion valve having an intermittent miss, closing for no reason, or not opening upon demand. And I spent 3 weeks chasing this because when it fails, all you can do is see the code, troubleshoot a bit, call Carrier tech support, then reset it. I ended up calling out Carrier, yes they have field techs, and it took 2 of them about 5 hrs to figure it out. These 2 only work on chillers, and took them 5 hrs! They adjusted the settings and walked away from it, said it was cycling on to close(each circuit), had damaged the valve. Still under warranty but did not replace. If its not the cooling fan circuit acting up, it may be the expansion valve(s) acting up. In that scenario, the tech is going to need to camp out by the unit, and catch it in the act. If you get a second opinion, call a refridgeration company that has some background in chillers. Or call Carrier.Hope this helps!

Air conditionin gunit keeps tripping breaker. A/C is carrier 5 years old compressor?

Sounds like you have a grounded compresser with a direct short. To know for sure you can disconnect the compresser and then flip the breaker and see if it still trips. If it still does check the motor, but this is most likley the compresser sorry.Carrier does have a 5 yr warranty so hurry and call someone it could still be in warranty!
