I have a frigidaire FRS26ZPH side by side that leaks water about twice a day on the floor by the doors. Where are the drains located so I can see if they are blocked?

What is happening is that there is a drain at the back and bottom of the inside of the freezer area and that drain is clogged with ice (freezer set too cold?) from inside the freezer or dust (you do actually vacuume out those coils once a year right?) from the back of the frigidaire. To fix this issue...

(Total work time about 30 minutes. 60 minutes counting explaining what you are doing to your friend or significant other :)

1.  Unplug the frigidaire so you don't zap yourself.

2. take everything out of the freezer, remove the shelfs and un screw the maintenance access panel at the back of the freezer area.

3. You should see a drain area at the bottom of the coils, using a straw or something semi-flexible, snake out that drain from inside the freezer to see if the clog releases. If there is a lot of ice and you cannot even get to the clog, be patient and gently remove the ice - DO NOT DAMAGE the coils!

4. Remove the back access panel to the frigidaire. Viewed from the back, you are looking for the fat black hose coming from above and behind the right side the fan (this is why you unplugged remember?) into the drain tray under the fan. Gently lift up on the hose so it flexes up and toward you so you can snake the hose from this other end too.

*Hint: If you are REALLY nice to your friend or signifigant other, they will gladly pour another dixi cup of water in the drain from inside the freezer so you can see for yourself that the drain is now clear.

5. Now the drain is clear and all your ice cream is melting in your sink. Be sure to reposition that black hose back to where it was in the drain tray so it does not get chopped up by that fan at a later date. Next... reverse your removal of the back maintenance access panel on back of the frigidaire. Re-install the maintenance access panel on the inside of the freezer area. (Now is a good time to use a clean & warm washcloth to gently clean the inside of your freezer.) Reinstall all the shelfs. Place your ice cream and all other items back into the freezer.

*If you have an ice maker, be sure to dump all that half melted ice now - it will just refreeze into an iceberg later and break your ice machine so no cubes come out.

6. Plug the frigidaire back in. Tomorrow, check the bottom of the freezer for another sheet of ice accumulation, meaning something else is leaking inside of your freezer. (Could be your ice maker)

I have a frigidaire side by side model #FRS26ZPH and am having problems with the freezer collecting water on the lower part and than freezing

I had the same issue.. I checked this web site and found the solution (on another post).. It was the drain of the fridge being blocked.. I didn't know the existence of such drain.. it turned out that it got blocked with some dust, therefore with every defrost cycle, the water was not going down to the evaporator tray, then going inside the fridge (freezing), then overflowing to the outside doors.. check on youtube for videos on how to open the fridge and clean this drain.. Have fun..

If you have an ice maker, check for a leak in the water line. If no ice maker, there could be a leak in the pan for the defrost water, or the drain hose is out of position. Also, check to see if the water is actually leaking out from the freezer door. That would indicate a clogged drain. The bottom inside the freezer may have water, or ice on it. If so, suspect the clogged drain.

Water leaks from below the fridge a couple times a day?

There are several sources of water from within your refrigerator. The most likely source for the frequency you are experiencing, "couple of times a day", is the defrost system.

When your refrigerator defrosts, a heater that surrounds the evaporator piping behind the freezer back wall comes on which melts the frost on the coils causing the water to run into a drain below the evaporator. This drain can clog up with foreign particles accumulating in the drain. The clogging can cause the drain to spill over into the floor of the freezer and run out the door along the bottom of the freezer door through the door seal. This will usually leave an ice sheet on the floor of the freezer. If you do not have an ice sheet...the drain is not clogged.

The second method by which water ends up on the floor is a broken pan beneath the refrigerator intended to catch the water as it leaves the drain in the freezer. To test this, use a turkey baster and pump water into the freezer drain at the rear bottom of the freezer behind the wall using the holes in the wall. Watch under the refrigerator to see where the water ends up.

Performing these actions will lead you to the solution.

Leaking water on the front corner of the freezer side. We have turned off the water to the icemaker and have turned off the icemaker. Still leaking, not fast, but each day I clean up a puddle.

That is from your defrost drain either being clogged with food, or covered with ice. Behind the back wall in the freezer is a drain that empties underneath the fridge. If that drain gets blocked or froze over then the water will dump into the floor of the freezer and out the door gasket. Look in your freezer floor for ice build up. If you don't see anything like that or if you think the water is coming from underneath the fridge, then it is your condensate pan underneath. They crack sometimes.

Leaking from left corner GLD2250rd Frigidaire dishwasher

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

There is a water leak inside the freezer

You need to remove the bottom two baskets, or more to make space. Using a hairdryer, defrost the back area. You should be able to locate a drain hole in the center below the freezer coils. This drain hole is connected on the outside to a drainpipe which has a p trap and often gets blocked up. You need to force water down the drain hole. You can use a turkey baster or similar type of plunger filled with water. Once you have cleared the blockage pour hot water till it runs freely. Hope this sorts your problem, don't forget to rate me.
