INSTALLING A PRINTER IN WINDOWS 7

To install a printer in window 7, you need the printer installation CD/software.

Connect the printer to your system via a USB Cable (or any other cable necessary). Power on the printer. If you use a USB cable, windows 7 will automatically detect the printer and try to install it for you. However, if windows 7 does not have the driver, you will be prompted to load the drive from CD or a file location. If you have the Driver CD, load it now or browse to the folder where the driver software is located and load the software. Follow the on screen instruction to complete the installation.

Also
From start------devices and printers ------ add a printer ------add local printer ----- use an existing port, next ----------choose the printer manufacturer and the printer model. If not on the list and you have the installation CD choose have Disk and then next. Follow the onscreen instruction to complete the installation.

You can also run the Printer driver software and follow the onscreen instruction to complete the installation.

Hi.

The "tfght" message means that some of the files, folders and sub folders are compressed.
Boot the Windows 7 DVD, choose Custom install, on "Where do you want to install Windows" screen, click on Load Driver. Now use the mini-explorer which pops up to rightclick on System HD then choose Properties. Uncheck "Compress Drive to save Disk Space" for All Files and Sub-Folders. Restart.
That should solve the problem.
However you may have to start again. Click on the link below for an in-depth guide on how to dual boot XP and Windows 7.

Please take a close look at the disk you are using to install "Windows 7 Ultimate". It is definitely a "Recovery Disk" for Windows 7 Ultimate. You cannot install Windows 7 with a recovery disk. Recovery disk always is used to repair corrupt or damaged files of Windows OS and requires that the Operating System is already installed. You need a "Windows 7 Ultimate" Installation disk to install Windows not a recovery disk for Windows.

Hy i install window 7 in imac desktop after installing black screen apper keyboard blinking 3or 4 minits not working even when cd is booting when it say"press any key to boot cd' wirless keyboard is...

Hi, by reading your question I am not sure if you are saying that when you load up Windows 7, nothing shows but a black screen or if your keyboard is not working. Well anyway I am going to try and help with both.
If you are getting a black screen when loading up, this is probably because your computer does not support Windows 7. In order to use Bootcamp and install Windows 7 you must be on Mac 10.6 and up or Snow Leopard. That is the only OS that supports Windows 7 and if you do have Mac 10.6 but you still have the black screen it is probably because the actual computer can't handle it or the drivers in the computer might not support it. I would say anything before 2005 will not be able to load Windows 7, but I am just taking a guess. For my second solution dealing with your wireless keyboard, when you installed Windows 7, no drivers were installed because Windows does not support them yet. This is why your keyboard was blinking, it was looking for a connection because it was not connected to anything. When installing Windows 7 you will need a wired mouse and keyboard because your Apple Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard is not yet pared with the computer. In order to install the drivers to make your keyboard work you need to load up Windows 7 by holding down the "option" key when turning on the iMac. Then once you select Windows 7, and it loads up to the desktop you need to insert your Mac reinstall CDs, then follow the on screen steps to install the drivers. From there you should be able to go into the control panel and add a wireless keyboard under the devices panel.
I hope this helps, Justin

Hi, the problem is that your system wasn't designed for Windows 7. You could try the Packard Bell website and down load the latest driver, even its not for Windows 7. Or try the Realtrek AC'97 sound driver, its free to down load from a google search. Your other potenial problem is that you will need minimum of 2Gig of memory to run Windows 7.
