Have a computer with a S3 trio card in it. The drivers are located in the system dir and the control panel finds it under devices. When connected, the AL1912 monitor displays 'Input not supported' and nothing else. When connecting a CRT or reconnecting a crt, everything works.

First of all you need to know what video card you have. If you have
Windows and I assume you do go to Start > Control Panel (switch to
classic view) > System click on Device Manager and in the list find
'Display Adapter'. The name of the driver appears. Make a note of it. Go
directly to the website of your driver's manufacturer. Follow the
instructions to download and install the right driver. Restart your
computer to let it take effect.
Warning: this is the manual way
to update. If you are not a tech guy, attempting to change video drivers
could make your computer inoperable or cause severe problems. As a
result, you can rely on a free driver detective software to help fix the
driver issue automatically & accurately. This way also saves you
time & energy.
With very few exceptions, LCD monitors do not require a driver. Almost always, and display setting issue is an issue with the Display adapter (Video Card) driver. The plug and Play monitor driver that is native to Windows should work just fine.

Hi, The problem sounds to me like you need to access the bios and make sure the AGP is enabled. If this is enabled then you may need to go to the manufacturers site and download the drivers for your board and operating system. With a P3 you should have no trouble running XP so if you are not using this already then perhaps you need to upgrade as XP has a very good set of drivers built in and will run most video cards and sound cards
