Had the same problem with so I purchased a repair Kit from www.TvRepairKits.com. The kit had all the parts and simple step by step pics of the repair. I cant thank them enough for making this possible . At first the repair did not work so I emailed them and within an hour they told me to check two other items. Sure enough they were right! The set is now working perfectly. Try them

This problems is also parts of tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all the resistors dead too. This problems the 2 STK and some or all it resistors are completely dead that why u only have red flashing light and chirping sound only.If your tv have any life function left of the tv convergence board u would have only mis alignments of colors R,G,B lines, have colors shadows or 3D pictures look alike. The shop, will cost like $300-350 to get the tv convergence board fixed also fixed this problems too.

The blue convergence seems to be off on the tv, and i'm not sure how to fix it

Take the back of the tv off but first unplug it Then look to the lower right and you should see 2 convergence IC's (STK392-110) and also look for a burnt resistor around them. If no burnt resistors replace convergence IC's with STK392-180 If you have a burnt resistor then respond back to me with location number on the board and I will get back to you with the value.

Ineed to know what convergence ic's are in this tv

Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

53uwx10b,hitachi

dactag,
Working backwards now.......The burning smell will be the current limiting resistors near and in the circuit of the IC's
you changed..1 to 2 ohms, 1 or 2 watts.....caused by generic
replacement IC's STK392-110,120 or 150......Here is what to do to FixYa! First, please read some of my solutions for convergence
repairs...any brand, the info is generic, the repair parts are not....

1) REMOVE cheap IC's ! Replace with Hitachi part # CZ 01341
upgrade Mfr by Sanyo STK394-160

2)Replace any / all burnt or changed value resistors

3)Re-test to see any symptom....DO NOT CONVERGE

4)Think about putting the original DCU back, since it was
not the problem .......

5) Now where are we at ?? ............................T.

Hitachi 53uwx10b template

Hi, first what exactly are you looking for? the convergence board of the STKs number? If you have convergence problem, you will need to change the STKs for sure and check the resistence to the STKs and generally all of them have same low value. check it out and replace the faulty onces. switch on and adjust convergence and you have a good working picture on the screen.
