In order to switch from hammer to non hammer on the 13624 there is a ring on the clutch near the chuck. The button on the side is for switching from forward to reverse. The part number you will need is 2601099112. This is something that happens quite often on these drills and you may consider getting two. They are less that 5 dollars each.

Bhp452 makita cordless drill smoking. how can i troubleshoot?

the switch or motor is wired incorrectly. These parts are polarity sensitive. The smoking I would assume is from the old switch and now the rotation is reversed. Let me know if you need more assistance.

I HAVE A MODEL DW004 24V CORDLESS HAMMERDRILL THAT HAS STOPPED HAMMERING. IT ONLY RUNS IN DRILL MODE NO MATTER THE SWITCH POSITION. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT COULD BE WRONG. SWITCH APPEARS AND FEELS INTACT.

Hi!!

The hammerdrill function is set by the selector switch, the switch itself may look fine from the outside, but, if it is not switching functions, you should open the hammerdrill and check the switching mechanism, even if you don't have an idea of how it works, after a visual inspection to the switching mechanism, common sense will tell you what's wrong, it is actually pretty simple.

Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Fixing the springs to the carbon brushers to a 24v battery bosch drill

The brushes come as an assembly with the spring and brush in one unit. If your springs are bad you can order a set of brushes. The part number is 2607034901 and they run around $6.50. If your springs are melted looking there may be an underlying problem with the motor, mainly that there is a short in the motor or even switch. If the brushes are just worn and not touching the commutator bars then it is safe to just replace the brush set and you should be ok. Any questions please post back.

The screw to hold the chuck in place has brokern need new one

you can but a replacement screw from the drill manufacture or you can take the old one out and buy one from a local hardwarwe store that sell drills> did this to a dewalt about a year ago then found out the ww graingers carries all the replacement parts for this brand so you might try wickes first.

Just stoped working

make sure that in the speed selector you are fully on speed 1,2,or 3...sometimes you can fall inbetween and then it will do that...otherwise you may have overheated the drill and will need to deal with Grainger or another auth. Bosch dealer for warranty...if they don't fix you, buy a Hilti
