SOURCE: front panel connectors/jacks is not working
OK--usually what you will find from the front is 3 connectors.
One will be a solid block that has one blank hole which is the key. That will plug into the corresponding pins on the motherboard--usually toward the back of the case.
There will be another other wire that terminates in two plastic connectors. These are the USB connectors. Sometimes the connectors are in two parts. One is a 3-hole and one is a 1-hole. Usually you will find two sets as they sort of go together.
The pin configuration on the motherboard looks like this ::::.
The single pin on the end is not used. The other ones are connected with the plastic connector on the first three starting at the left, with the end marked VCC to the left. The fourth pin is the ground which is usually the separate connector.
The second USB connectors are plugged in right next to the first--so each block of pins controls 2 USB ports.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Front panel Mic not working when connected to Mother Board
Yeah, sounds like the case wasn't designed for that board. Just carefully double check the pins in the manual for the board. If you don't have the manual, check the asus site.
