The switch has gone bad. Very common on these. The contacts in the switch wear out and then get welded together. The motor draws a lot of power when first started and this is ******* the switch.
Other than design differences tension settings are much the same.

There are basically two models, but both are similar in waxing floors. I've just uploaded the manuals for each.
The instructions for the Floor Pro can be found on page 12 of the manual. The B-8, or 2101, is the same.
Basically:
Clean the floor.
Prepare a spray bottle of wax solution.
Spray an area in front of you, and back away while "swinging" the shampooer from side to side. Repeat.until finished.
These are specially made with to suit the particular requirement and there is no way but to get this replacement from the manufacturer. the other way out is to use the two remaining ones on either sides for a brighter light and use 10" pipes of PVC or transparent tubings to give a special shade. Check this out with the availability at a plumbing store. You can cut portions on the opaque shade and use acrylic pieces to be stuck within to give an art look.
