sir,
this part is available with Nikon agency, to replace this you have to open the whole camera, then detach the front portion, it doesn't matter, just a piece of rubber or sponge fix on the battery lid, this will be help full to hold the battery at contact perfectly.
typically there is a "catch chamber" by the purge/drain pump. This collects change and other debris in where the pump forces water to the drain. To find the chamber, there is either a small access door on the bottom or you may have to take front sheet metal off to gain access. This chamber will have a round "cap". Before you remove the cap, make sure you drain all the water with water drain hose into a bucket. Take the cap off and remove debris, then check to see if fins on motor move freely, with slight resistance, before replacing cap and testing. If you can move fins, try putting washer in "drain" position and with a flashlight check to see if fins are moving by themselves. If they are, replace cap and run a rinse then drain cycle.
I think it might depend on the model # and it should be in your manual.
Example for a G858 SCVI plus instructions (without pictures) are;
Bypassing the salt indicator
If your water is soft (below 8 gr/gal) the salt reservoir should not be filled with salt. The indicator will remain lit and should be disregarded or bypassed.
Remove the salt reservoir cap.
Looking into the salt reservoir, you will see the top of the float chamber on the right hand side, a.
Using a screwdriver, carefully pivot the float chamber towards the center of the reservoir.
Using needle nose pliers, pull the cap, b, off of the float chamber, and remove the float, c.
Replace the float chamber cap, push the chamber back into its upright position, and replace the salt reservoir cap. The "Salt" indicator should no longer be lit.
Hi, from the photos I see on the web, it looks like you hold the salt chamber and then unscrew the nut on the top of the unit. I would say that you need to then pour out the salt into a small container, and then grasp the bottom (pepper chamber) and pull up on the salt chamber to separate it from the bottom chamber. Fill the pepper chamber and then replace the salt chamber and fill with salt, replace salt cover and then replace nut. I hope this helps.
I just finished cleaning our starter on our jenn air. Over time, corrosion, rust and battery acid builds up on both the coils on the lid (positive side) as well as in the battery chamber and negative tip inside the chamber. I used sand paper and sanded the coils in the cap and the chamber. The coils need direct connection to the battery to create the charge. There are no instructions on this that I was able to find. I figured it out after about 3 hours of fussing with it. It worked immediately once I placed the battery back in. You may also need to clean the electrode tips near the burner. I used a q-tip. Hope this helps.
Easy solution : remove battery cover and clean inside the battery chamber AND the battery cap/cover itself ( use pencil erasor or anything slightly abrasive ) More demanding solution : remove top cover and locate red wire on the left hand side of the circuit board ( impossible to miss; the wire brings power from battery chamber to the main board ) and resolder ( dry joint ) . You should also actually measure whether you are getting 3V through this wire ( one connection to the contact and the other to the body of the camera ). If you are still not getting anything out from the battery chamber the red wire needs replacing.
Clean the battery contachs- use a pencil eraser to get at those in the base of the chamber.
Then try.
Some timer the cap that closes the battery chamber is no longer making tight contact- keep it pressed in with a finger when taking shots.
If all this is to no avail get onto Canon Technical Support.
